Why isn’t Trump, worth billions, supporting the arrested Capitol protesters?

In my podcast last Friday I hailed New York Post opinionator (and frequent Tucker Carlson guest) Miranda Devine, writing last week about the savage treatment being meted out to participants in the January 6th Capitol protest.

In this morning's Post Ms Devine hits another one out of the park on the same topic. I tried extracting a couple of quotes to give you the flavor of the column, but it's uniformly excellent, no part more quotable than any other.

Just read the whole thing, please.

Ms Devine touches on a point I haven't seen much aired: Why isn't Donald Trump out front in support of these protesters?

The anarchists who smashed, looted, and burned their way across America all through last summer enjoyed all the bounty of the Soros-Silicon Valley-Wall Street blob, with its legions of bought-and-paid-for prosecutors and attorneys. They were also, of course, cheered on by Pelosi, Biden, Harris, and their media shills.

The January 6th protesters have nothing like that. Even GoFundMe has banned any support for them, thus revealing itself an obedient servant of the blob.

Of course those January 6th protesters who broke the law should be prosecuted, and punished if found guilty after due process; but does anyone think—does anyone think—that apolitical justice is being equally applied here? And that these protesters will receive impartial due process?

Trump is worth billions. Couldn't he spare some of it to help out with the legal defenses? CultMarx goes all-out for its supporters, even when they engage in grossly and repeatedly violent and destructive acts. Trump has never lifted a finger on behalf of his supporters.

Changed my mind:
I shall quote Ms Devine's monitory closing words:

If Biden has decided we are to become a zero-tolerance law and order nation, there are advantage in a crime-free society if you don't mind writing off everyone who makes a mistake.
But in reality, we are doing the opposite, creating a two-tier justice system that punishes only the political enemies of the left.
It’s as if the Dems want to create a class of people with nothing to lose.

Well, there was no way I was going to this thing.
I also felt the same way about Charlottesville.
I appreciate people willing to enter the fray, however. I think their anger was justified.
These things are definitely exposing what kind of enemy we face.
The Jan. 6 thing is being used to subvert the law. This is weirdly similar to how the burning of the Reichstag was supposedly exploited.

From what I keep reading, Trump is deep in the debts.
He will probably do the blackface soon and sing the blues for shekels.
I support this.
OK, I'm getting too silly today.
I'm sitting here trying to be patient for what's coming.
Patience is a virtue, right?

To avoid being directly tied to the protestors.
Possibly anticipating more legal battles and financially supporting the stormer would look bad in court.
That or he is just a cheap fuck.

Because Trump is not Sulla, whose epitaph was "no better friend, no worse enemy". By failing to reward (or even protect) his friends and punish his enemies, Trump ensured that among the people who mattered, he would find many enemies and no friends.

This is why sovereigns have always had the right to grant pardons, a right that Trump rarely exercised. It's to prevent the king's enemies tearing him down by arresting his subordinates on trumped-up charges.

Trump could tell his fans to re-elect him in 2024 so he could pardon his incarcerated supporters .. eventually?
Maybe that's why they were giving back the franchise to felons. THATWASTHEPLANALLALONG

Speaking of money: where did all that donated legal funds money go to Trump? Guiliani?

Hair dye and washed up fat porn stars?
Good f—ing question.
I never liked that they were asking for money all those weeks. I never sent any and always ignored the emails.

If I was someone who sent money I'd be demanding reparations.

I imagine many of the senders are angry — especially those who are now facing decades of federal prison time.😞

Wonder if they're still waiting on Trump to activate and drain the swamp?
