Thailand to Strengthen Trade Ties with Russia

This is good news.

Big news disguised as small news.

RT:

Ukraine-related Western sanctions are expected to strengthen ties between Russia and Thailand, boosting trade turnover between the nations to as much as $10 billion, according to Russian Economy Minister Maxim Reshetnikov.

“The level of $10 billion that we had previously set is still a goal, and an achievable one,” he told journalists after the first day of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum, which kicked off on Saturday in the Thai capital of Bangkok.

Reshetnikov said that trade between Russia and the South Asian state reached $2.8 billion in 2021, stressing that the two partners expect that figure to multiply.

According to the minister, the countries had discussed the issue of boosting mutual trade earlier in the day.
Okay so, basically…

Thailand is the number one country that has been super-good at playing every side. They’ve made trillions off of tourism, appealing to both the east and west as a neutral destination for beaches and bitches.

However, the game has changed. There is no more room to play sides. War is coming to planet earth, and it is time to fall in line with the East or West.

Thailand collapsed their tourism industry as a result of a complete neurotic freakout over coronavirus, so it’s kind of irrelevant now. I think the country is still closed now, unless you want to do a two week quarantine for $1200 – locked in a hotel with shitty food and daily invasive nose swabs.

Southeast Asia is geographically important, and most of it is on sides with the East. Philippines is the notable exception of a country that is so infested with American spook influence that it can’t break free. Former President Duterte tried to bust out and couldn’t. Ferdinand Marcos’ son Bongbong is now in charge – and it is pretty based they elected the son of a “dictator” who was overthrown by a US-backed color coup. But it’s unlikely Bongbong will be able to break out of the American web. (Duterte’s daughter, who has always been his proxy, is the vice-president now – so you have a bunch of people who would rather get on sides with China, but it just doesn’t seem plausible.)

Meanwhile, Vietnam is basically anti-China and did a pogrom against Chinese people in 2014 – killing a bunch of them and burning their factories. But they also haven’t really committed to the ZOG alliance.

Otherwise: Burma, Laos, Cambodia, Malaysia, and Indonesia are on sides with China/Russia.

It’s just logical that Thailand and Vietnam would commit to the East, because they are in the East, and when the BIG ONE finally starts, they will just get Zerg-rushed from all sides if they’re hosting American forces.

Thailand is completely surrounded. Vietnam has a big sea border where the Americans could I guess help them but I mean – they have a border with China, then Laos and Cambodia. It’s a long border which is not really defensible. People have been crossing back and forth since forever. There is no natural barrier on most of it.

When the war starts, China will move very rapidly to close holes. That is why most of SEA – they are not stupid people – have already lined up. China taking any SEA country (other than the Philippines) would take like ten minutes, and all it would mean is that the government would be decapitated and replaced. Opinion is so split, and so much of the population is ambivalent about geopolitics in general – plus, the entire political class in any of these countries is pragmatic and opportunistic – that China will not have a problem installing a friendly government in any country that doesn’t get on sides before things get hot.

What’s more: in recent years, the US has been funding a color uprising in Thailand, getting homosexuals and women to attack the king.

English signs about democracy, attacks on police – the whole dance we’re all very familiar with at this point.

This is not a good way to make friends.

Thailand opening trade up with Russia might not seem like a huge deal, but it’s a big signal of the way they’re going. They don’t want to directly make friends with the Chinese, and that’s fine – Russia is playing emissary and getting the job done.

China is dumping huge amounts of money into Thailand, so if they don’t want to make a big show of allying with China, there is no harm done.

Just one small problem.

That’s going to have to go.

In addition, the way the USA exited from Afghanistan will have redpilled many smaller countries about how much the USA really cares about the fate of her allies,

I know someone who just went for a 2 week holiday. He is a vax cuck. So no need for any kind of quarantine. You just have to secure some kind of entry pass from an Embassy before you travel, and then submit all your shit at the airport when you check in.

But I wouldn't trust the Thai government not to shut down again over Covid or the Monkey pox.

What is changing?

There are 4 major changes:

  1. The Test & Go and Sandbox schemes are being removed for vaccinated travelers. It has been replaced with the No Quarantine program.
  2. RT-PCR testing is no longer required when entering Thailand.
  3. COVID-19 insurance is reduced from $20,000 USD to $10,000 USD
  4. Unvaccinated travelers can enter Thailand by 5-day Alternate Quarantine or a No Quarantine program if they have a pre-departure RT-PCR test.

Good post. Strong ties between the China and Russian block and Thailand are also inevitable because of:

1. The dominance of Chinese Thais in the business world and "professions." Just like the Jews using their power to align with Israel, the Chinese thais will align more easily with China than against China (there won't be another option). If the US was smart it would give Thailand the option of straddling the fence but that isn't how we roll.

2. There are top officials in the government who are anti white and don't even want white tourists who they think are synonymous with backpackers. Covid at first was blamed on "dirty" white tourists for example. Chinese tourists are the biggest block of tourists, and while they aren't liked by average thais, they are the preferred ones of the elite.

3. China is really big and really close so it would be suicidal for the elite to align with the US.

4. Thailand has the world's greatest income inequality with 1% owning over 80% of all assets and the top point 1% almost half of all assets. The average thai likes the US more than Russia. They identify Russia with the Russian mob. (Their views on China I am not sure.) Many wealthy Thais already live in Europe or America and many Thais would love to live in the US or one of its vassal states. However that is irrelevant. The powerful Thais who continue to live in Thailand would have to be suicidal to get into a conflict with China

5. Even though the King lives in Germany I imagine that the color revolution outweighs his affinity with Europe

I just got back to Burma after spending a month in Thailand and it's changed a lot since pre covid. They still want to enforce wearing masks everywhere even outside, but I just ignored it and had no issues outside. Going indoors I just pulled my neck gaiter up over my face and nobody demanded I wear a "real" mask. It's still nice there though. Better than being stuck in the insane West.

What's the update on the Burma situation?
Aung my son, you are man now you must choose:
Psychopathic military mafia who loot country for own benefit and murder citizens who resist
OR
Globohomo CIA anal "democracy"

They're fucked either way, there are no good guys here.

But to answer your question, I'm actually not too sure. The tatmadaw's forces seem to be being stretched thin, usually they rotate divisions so that each gets a break from the front but right now all divisions of the army are constantly deployed. Min Aung Hlaing recently invited all the ethnic militia leaders to a peace conference which some say shows desperation or at least that the army needs a breather. The biggest ones refused to attend as he did not invite the shadow government or their armed division, the PDF.
With monsoon season coming soon the military will be unable to use their air superiority effectively and it does seem like both ethnic militias and general anti coup resistance fighters are gaining ground. It's going to be interesting.

Yes and yes. He's got a wife, mistress, and effectively a haram in Germany. He's seen as hedonistic which doesn't sit well with Thais who are by large quite conservative. He's also seen as particularly cruel. There was one guy (Pongsak Sriboonpeng) who got jailed for 60 years for his criticism of the king on Facebook - and there is a long list of similar cases.

Thailand has much the same issue as Burma in that they have a choice between globohomo liberal "democracy" and psychotic corrupt old men who basically want the same thing - a permanent peasant class who serve them and an entrenched elite who own everything and treat the small people as playthings, except their idea is to enforce it through a veneer of fake nationalism and 1984 style brutality against anyone who resists instead of the globohomo plan to turn everyone into weak dysgenic drones through social (and probably genetic) engineering. Unfortunately there is no strongman leader who wants to lead the country and it's people together proudly into prosperity*. It's "Fuck you I've got mine and I'm keeping it, know your place peasant."
The relationship between the military and Royalty is complex. Thailand has very strict lese majeste laws which make any criticism of the monarchy harshly punishable. We're talking long prison time for anything at all which could be pilpuled as criticism of the royal family. The military and the police use this to their advantage fully. They are the Royal army and the Royal Thai Police so if you criticise them they will say well, by extension you criticise Royalty, so prison for you! The government is the King's government so if you complain about the government that's complaining about the King so off to prison you go! But at the same time the military has just couped Kings and confined them to the palace a few times in the past when they dared to directly go against the military.

Their current situation is that they are ruled by a pro military party, the PM is a "former" General who led a coup against the previous government (which was also fantastically corrupt, which led to mass protests and that is what gave the military the excuse to coup in the first place). To be fair to Gen. Prayut it was pretty based how he had the almost the entire government meeting at the Army golf resort to try and decide what to do with the corrupt female PM and when they kept fucking around he just announced in front of an army of journalists "OK sorry but I'm seizing power."
Prayut "resigned" from the army and after stacking the senate and courts with his goons he held an election, and just before voting day had the opposition party disbanded for breaking some obscure funding law, so obviously the military party won and he gets to claim he's elected now. He has done some good things to try and limit the influence of leftist Western NGOs. Recently they were wailing and kvetching about a new law which would require them to state their overall goals and their sources of funding and be transparent in all their operations.
In the meantime the main opposition are globohomo green faggots. One of the main leaders of the "student" protest movement is some grotesquely fat 30 something faggot whose nickname is literally "Penguin". So yeah.
Can't really blame the King for wanting nothing to do with that whole mess. Thailand never had a magna carta forcing Royalty to follow the same laws as the rest of society so he chooses to just do the whole medieval "fuck you I'm the King I do what I want" and sit around with his enormous harem and multiple wives.

*On a side note the previous King, King Bhumibol, was a King of the people. First King in generations to have only one wife and to dedicate a lot of time and personal wealth to trying to improve the lives of the average Thai. The Thai people absolutely loved him and as a way of both honouring his memory and subtlety throwing shade at the current King in the only way they legally can, a lot of places still keep up pictures of Bhumibol rather than of the current King. It's rumoured he even recognised that his eldest son was a bit of a degenerate and was trying to find a way to pass the throne to one of his other kids. There was the whole "murdering his elder brother so he can inherit the throne" thing that went down but that was years ago and his elder brother was a fucked up mentally ill guy so Thais don't really talk about that.

They identify Russia with the Russian mob. (Their views on China I am not sure.)
I don't know how much they know about Russia. When I was there they always thought I was Russian. I mean, Russians think I'm Russian too. But yeah, they would say "you Russia? gangster!" But I don't know if they care, I've never seen Russians make trouble abroad, other than Russian women doing public sex acts or running sex clubs or any of this other stuff we all know about. Even Russians evading Russian law enforcement tend to behave themselves. Yeah, there are Russians who get sloshed and make scenes or get in fights, but I can't imagine they are worse on average than British. When I stayed in Thailand I knew of several white murders and they were all British. Of course they killed white people so they just had to pay $5000 or something. But Russians don't run drugs or anything. The only white guys I ever heard of running drugs in Asia were Australians in the Philippines and Bali.

Of course they hate the Chinese. Even second generation Thai Chinese (with two Chinese parents) complain about the Chinese. It's just a very base complaint that they are loud and spit inside and throw cigarettes everywhere. They say "dirty" even though Chinese have good personal hygiene. Anyway, we've had this discussion here a lot - middle class Chinese don't have manners because their parents were all ultra-poor. Anyone who was middle class under Mao is rich now, and not going on a group vacation tour to Thailand. Rich Chinese will also sometimes claim to be from Taiwan or Singapore or something. Hong Kong, whatever, because they know they'll get discriminated against.

Xi is trying to do something about this tourism thing. I guess tourism is down because of the virus hoax, but he was trying to show instructional videos about how to use ash trays on airplanes, I don't know that they were showing them on all planes though and people would just ignore them. Frankly, there needs to be like a high school class in China about how to behave abroad, showing rules about yelling, spitting, and flicking cigarette butts. It's also the method of Chinese tourism, where they do these huge groups in busses from the airport to the hotel, then everywhere they go sight-seeing it's a big bus tour. I've even seen bus tours go to whoring spots. Even if there is no bus tour to the whoring spot, they will all plan to go together, so they end up swamping the bars with fifty dudes. I don't know, I haven't been to Thailand in a long time, but they're pretty savvy with the capitalism stuff, they've probably figured out a system of bigger KTV style whorehouses that are capable of absorbing a busload of Chinese, instead of them just being dumped on some small bar that was designed for whites. I was already seeing the KTVs with Chinese characters going up in Bangkok years ago.

The thing is: Chinese spend a whole lot more money than whites. The average hooker or street vendor might not care about a few extra bucks, but as you say, the ruling class is looking at the bigger numbers and on the whole, Chinese are a lot more profitable and also they should in theory be easier to manage in these huge groups than white families going to the beach, backpackers, or sex tourists. The only group there that really spends money are the families, and they probably only spend as much as the Chinese, if not less, and they're probably only 1/3rd of the white tourists.

Chinese have also been involved in meth trafficking scandals in every SEA country in recent years, but this was a direct result of Xi's crackdown since he took power - all of the worst elements of Chinese society fled China when it was clear that Xi was tightening the screws, and they all ended up in various SEA countries. I doubt they were drug dealing in China, but they are just a criminal element, and drug dealing is an obvious thing for any criminally minded person. Ironically, the fact that Chinese are dealing drugs in SEA is a testament to the effectiveness of Xi's reforms, but of course SEA countries don't see this. Ultimately, those type of people will end up marrying local women (Chinese women won't marry criminals, but poor SEA women will marry anyone with money and probably won't be aware of the criminality), so their kids will be native speakers who can hide the fact they are half Chinese and will probably go straight anyway because there are so many business opportunities in SEA, because money is just flowing everywhere.

The other thing the Chinese criminal element that fled China did was building projects. They moved all their ill-gotten gains from China before Xi could seize them and built like, massive condo complexes in Pattaya or Hanoi or the Cambodian beach or whatever. This is a huge boon for the economies of these countries. Building a huge condo complex, or a high-rise hotel - both of which will be largely empty - is a massive economic gain. All of the materials, the labor, all of it goes into the local economy, while also driving up the property values.

The culture clash between mainland Chinese and SEA people is just a growing pains type thing. They will eventually learn to live with each other. Vietnamese couldn't, but I think everyone learned from that experience. The reason for the VN pogroms was cultural and not economic, and had to do with the Chinese speaking their own language in public, primarily. It's really a parallel of the pogroms against German (yiddish) speaking Jews in Poland or Ukraine. But most of the Chinese going South now are not bringing women, so they will integrate linguistically.

Anyway, my analysis in the OP is correct, but yours is a good addendum to it, because yeah, the Thai elite is looking at the bottom line, and that is with China.

AA, I don't know if you're aware of this, but THE MAN, THE LEGEND, Kevin Macdonald, in his preface to part 1 of his Jewish trilogy A People Who Shall Dwell Alone, did a study of various diaspora groups other than Jews to give a point of comparison to the main topic of his book - those other groups being the Roma in the West, the English Puritans in the USA, and the Ethnic Chinese in SEA. You might find the last section pretty interesting, because it does a deep dive into group relations and tensions between different evolutionary strategies from a social science perspective (and this is real science - K-Mac is a top scholar). The section itself is only about 25 pages, being from page 42 to page 66 as seen in the electronic format (below), where it can be downloaded from archive.org as a PDF, and if you're busy, uploaded to naturalreaders.com so it can be read aloud to you as you do other things. I read the book in 2017, and found it very helpful to my thinking.

Bangladesh is far from the major cities like Yangon, Mandalay and Naypyitaw, and the militias are mostly interested in expanding their power and land holdings in their ethnic areas. Terrorist attacks against Bamar strongholds in central Myanmar 1000km away is not their MO.
Visas are now open even for tourists. You need a PCR test before departure, you need proof of vaccination and you MUST purchase Myanmar Insurance from the Burmese government for $50 and also you must take an ATK test on arrival. Once that's negative you are free to go.
For a visa longer than 30 days you need a business visa or a social visa. After you've had two 6 month visas you can apply for 12 month visas. If you just work online doing the digital nomad life there are various agents here who will just pay a local company to list you as an employee.

That doesn't sound like fully open.

Well it's open enough for me. It's the old
"did you get vaxxed?"
"No."
"Oh well you need proof of vaccination to-"
"Oh right yeah I have that that."

I went to Bangkok, then Pattaya, then Krabi and finally back to Pattaya before leaving.
Bangkok is bustling as normal, the rooftop bars are open as is tourist traps like khaosan road. Face covering required everywhere but not enforced except for on BTS and inside shops.
Pattaya was very quiet when I first arrived in April but by the time I was leaving in mid May it was picking up a lot. Walking Street clubs open again and soi 6 and Buakow open until 2am.
Krabi was great I was in a bay only accessible by boat with no police station so they just did whatever the fuck they wanted.

Vietnam is now also open with no distinction on requirements between vaxed and unvaxed travelers, I'll be going there next.
