I love these games though and wish someone other than Beamdog had done the remaster. Are you playing the original or the remaster?
I just got BG 1, Siege of dragonspear, and BG2 all EE editions. so not the originals. I intend to complete each in order, and import my party over the the next game, playing with the "canon" party. ive just smashed Durlag's tower, that was quite challenging then the Werewolf Island bit, which was cool, but unfortunately quite short. and now im just finishing chapter 5, ready to go to candlekeep.

I am enjoying the playthrough ill be honest. i picked a Wizard slayer too intending to dual to mage at level 9 or something. its been pretty good so far. I never completed it back in the day, but i did complete BG2. so i figured id do the entire story from start to finish

Meh it has denuvo, I have heard that the best tactic is teleport stun executions which are kind of game breaking. People complain that the grey knights are too weak, even a lowly cultist can take multiple hits which is heresy because GK are the giga chads of space morons.

The CD key is probably on the box so maybe you can download it from the official site?

The single possession I have kept for the last 20 years is all of my Blizzard CD keys. Although my WC3 key became useless after the stupid remaster.
I'll check

That is not an RTS game lol.

I love these games though and wish someone other than Beamdog had done the remaster. Are you playing the original or the remaster? I would like to see all WoC digital properties be transferred fully to Larian and have them contract out reamasterers. I don't even know what Beamdog is, other than that they had a bunch of bluehairs and trannies involved.

Although frankly, I would prefer a DOS 3 than the BG3. It's not really BG3, it's just DOS 3 with BG aesthetics, and it's hampered by the stupid 5g D&D rules, which are retarded. Frankly, the DOS lore is just as good as D&D lore, and their character system is better than 5g DND.

However, I have sworn to do a full game of BG3 with @Tony Castle when it's finished. I would actually do a playthrough now if he's down. I'm not sure we have any place to stream. I don't want to go on cozy, though if Tony was allowed I would go on his stream on cozy and then post reposts on Bitchute.
I'd be down! I've thought about applying for a channel actually but I think I might too small potatoes. But then again there are guys on Cozy who had smaller numbers than my solo stuff on DLive... so idk what counts as 'established streamers'

I haven’t played this but in my experience for every good Warhammer game there are about 10 that feel totally halfassed.

I am not a huge Warhammer person. I've read a couple of the books and not really gotten into it. But I'm big on the aesthetics.

I'm also a sucker for "RPG elements" in terms of tactical gaming.

So I was excited about this game like I was excited about Necromunda. But this game is apparently a disaster.

I am not going to pay $40 for this unless the reviews go up. I would pay $25 for it out of curiosity, I guess, and because I'm sure there would be some cool stuff.
You should try and beat XCOM Apocalypse. It's buggy but I beat it a year or so ago. There are patches available to get past broken parts of the game.

Since we're on the subject. I best enemy unknown, terror from the deep and apocalypse. Would anyone recommend Xenonauts? I know how good the reviews are for the updated XCOM games but ehh, I just like the old style. The old music etc.

This one was made by Beamdog. I never played it but it had a tranny in like, 2013 or whenever that was. I think it was kind of vulgar to make an expansion pack with literally not one single member of the original team, effectively a stolen property.

The amount of theft that has gone on in the video game industry is absurd, and really gives the lie to the whole concept of "intellectual property." This is used to steal people's creative work as much as it is used to "protect" it, with the latter concept making little sense for creators themselves. It's basically just a racket.

The only "good" thing it does is allow greedy Jews to harass people from the internet. I will never forget "Gene Simmons" (Chiam Witz) claiming that every single download of his songs was "theft," and that he had "lost" more money than he'd made in his life to piracy. Why didn't he go broke if he was losing so much money from people downloading his shitty music in the 1990s, decades after his popularity had ended? If every Kiss album download removed $17 dollars from his bank account, people were probably downloading the albums just to try and make him go broke.

Speaking of Xcom - that creator had that property stolen via intellectual property law, and ended up making Phoenix Point. He could have gotten serious investment if he'd still owned the Xcom property, instead he had to do it on an indie budget. Black Isle had all their properties stolen. I actually love Wasteland 2 & 3, but Fallout games would have been better.

Why does Xcom or Fallout need to be owned by anyone? Why can't anyone just make a game with those properties? What is the threat to society that this system is preventing? I have lived in a lot of countries that don't honor intellectual property, and people still go in and buy real Nikes if they can afford them. The only people who buy the Chinese knockoffs are poor. No one prefers the knockoffs.

You're in pretty good with Ralph. I think we can put a word in. Do you have copies of your old streams anyway that someone can review?

Nick actually said I could have a channel but I don't want to bring that heat. I think it's fine if I go on shows though. Me and you doing BG might be a hit. The pace of it allows for a lot of talking, whereas with the FPS games the zoomers all play the talking is always sort of half-distracted because the gaming is so intense.

Re: the OP: it's up to mostly positive on Steam now. I haven't read any of the new reviews, but a lot of the negativity was about these Twitch-locked weapons. I forget if someone posted it above, but they were making people like, watch hours of Twitch streams to get the weapons. I had never even heard of this, but I think this rubbed people the wrong way, because they paid for the game and were effectively forced to participate in a forced labor scam in order to get the parts of a game they already paid for. I am not a completionist or anything, so I wouldn't really ever even think about this, but it was driving the negative reviews. If they didn't sign some binding contract with Twitch and were just getting paid for each participant, maybe they cut that out.

Ima check.

Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2 was one of the best 40k games ever.
I also really like(d) the lore of the 40k universe but unfortunately just as GW decided to FINALLY start advancing the fucking plot (we've been in the last year of the 41st millennium for like a decade at this point), they starting getting pozzed, so the plot is probably going to get fucked.

Xenonauts is good,my old laptop can't handle the 2 that is beta, the drawbacks are in graphics because it is no in 3d and to see an alien in a building floor above ground you need to change camera level, there are audio cutscenes or videos, there is no story telling like XCOM Enemy no but gameplay is more tactical and profound, you need to care about soldier stats, weight equipment, ammo to carry, deployment air combat, base management is more complicated...

used to. 8th ed sucked enough for me to throw in the towel, under 6-7th ed i have a 20.000 point army a full company worth of space marines, rhinoes, command squad, veteran squad. 3 dreadnoughts. then half a company of terminators each squad has a landraider transport, 3 venerable dreadnoughts (haha dark angels) and 50 bikes and landspeeder squads. assorted tanks including space marine specific superheavy tanks from forgeworld and enough scenery to run a small tournament.

But yeah the new ruleset broke the game hard imo

Oh I've unburdened myself from the chains of Games Workshop for a while now. I found out it's easier to get new people to play One Page Rule's systems for wargames.

Haven't played since back in the day when Necrons were hilariously overpowered and I could do the slow "death march" across the table with a couple of squads of warriors and 1 Lord with a resurrection orb just blasting through absolutely everything.
Same damage output as Marines with the same armour save, extra damage against vehicles and everything that went down was rezzed on a 3+ next turn.
Whoever thought that was balanced needed to give their head a wobble but it was fun to play while it lasted.

Its not so much that the rules are complicated, Its more that the elite troops that cost shitloads of points to field, are absolute dogshit now. and the spam tier conscripts kick the shit out of elite troops and cost next to nothing to field. so it makes no sense.

Under the old rules space marines get a 3+ save, and space marine weapons pierce armour, denying shit units a save.
Now everything reduces the save of a space marine, so his 3+ armour is now worthless and more like 5+ armour against just about everything.
then space marines weapons had their armour piercing value removed, so literally every single model in the entire game gets its full armour save against space marines.

But the points values didn't change. space marines still cost 3 x more than other units. and everything makes them worthless, and their own weapons make them even more worthless. so playing is pointless.

It's always been the way. My 3rd ed Necrons annihilated absolutely everything because they were new and they always make new units OP to drive sales then nerf them later whilst introducing new OP units. In 3rd ed you could march across the board with squads of basic warriors mowing down everything and the basic light vehicles of the necrons could 1 shot a Land Raider Crusader.
