I'm doing decent. have been fasting steadily and had a refeed, with less calories than i was planning to but nonetheless. figured that most of my cravings are from me dumping salt during the fast so i upped by salt intake big time and i feel pretty great. been standing a lot, but because it is boring as fuck to stand in front of the computer i have been doing a bunch of house work so as a byproduct my place looks is super clean.
when i do fasts, things that usually entertain me are now boring, which forces me to be productive and it makes days go by quicker. it's always fascinating to see.
Eat good salt?

i do the snake juice thing and i use either pink salt or ancient salt, they call it "ursalz" in germany.
most salt in germany is pretty decent because they have big salt mines here. none of it is plastic contaminated like sea salt so it's all good :)

I’m down to 1 cup of coffee, used to drink a whole freaking pot it.
This month with be 3 years WITHOUT BOOZE. So the no drinking has not been a problem.
7 years no smoking, so don’t have to worry about that.
I’ve cut back nearly all my dairy intake, and started a cholesterol free routine. So far 1 week in I’m down to 195 from 205.
That might not seem like much, but I lift 5 times a week. I’ve never been cut, just bulky. Arms are bulk, legs are bulk, and core is solid. Today after lifting I started to notice I’m firming up, and my veins in both biceps are getting huge. Tomorrow I am waking up and starting a cardio regime for the next week. Going to run one day, then jump rope the next.
I want to be down to 185 by the start of bow season.

Late to the party, but starting now I vow to:

-Restart the lame no gym plate-only basement rona routine I quit as it got warmer outside,
-Spend less time on this forum, it's become a huge time and energy sink,
-Cut back to two from four benadryl pills a night before bed,
-Restart 100 burpees a day, I've slipped recently,
-Stop responding to or even acknowledging anything coof-hoax-affirmative said to me by anyone. I've almost mastered this, but depending on mood I sometimes slip. I'm vowing to never slip again.

I always do best when I plan a month in advance as far as personal discipline goes. For whatever reason, I also do best when I pile a bunch of shit on top of it to make it really tough instead of just doing one thing.

For me:
Zero alcohol
Zero kratom
Zero ejaculation
Zero coffee
Strict carnivore diet

Whatever you're struggling with, let's keep each other accountable and have a good, healthy month. Post what you're going to quit/avoid, just for the month of August. Not "I'll try to quit ____" but "This is what I'm doing for sure, 100%"

I do this stuff all the time. For whatever reason, it’s easier for me to do zero of something for a set period of time, and stacking things, although kind of brutal, makes me more determined. The thing I can’t do, or have a lot of difficulty with, is doing things in moderation. Maybe one day...

I’m still on track, gotta just stay aware of my frustration levels working with my old partner and keep praying for patience. Sometimes I swear he’s part nigger, not hyperbole... it’s baffling to behold how his brain works/doesn’t. Argghh...

A big part of trying to get into a healthy routine is the patience required to watch a new rhythm take shape and then take root. Stay simultaneously vigilant and flexible, you’ll know when to compromise or when to stay strict.

Hope you guys are feeling good 1 week in. I still kinda feel like I β€œlost the plot” or something, but I’m just faking it till I make it or until my serotonin and testosterone levels find that righteous balance that have the ability to make me feel actually optimistic...I know it’s possible, so I’ll keep working at it! πŸ’ͺ🏼

Almost mid point update:

I've had two drinks this month (forgot my birthday was this month so lots of pressure, I'm only human), hitting the gym 3 days a week running a 3x5 program, drinking one cup of coffee prior to the gym on gym days (cutting back from a pot a day has made me less tired throughout the day), struggling with the tobacco but conscious of my usage, praying more, and no masturbation.

How are you fools doing?

I’m holding strong on no kratom, no alcohol, and no coffee. Drinking a couple teas per day hit after watching Alex Becker’s video on caffeine this morning I realize I need to quit it.

intended not to coom at all this month but got a little carried away with the lady and decided to ditch that one. Also ditched β€œno news” after the Lebanon bomb but have been more responsible with my consumption.

feeling really good but boy am I addicted to kratom. I miss it several times through the day. Bad stuff.

How’s everyone else? Looking forward to a drink or two on 9/1

Try to substitute with Melatonin. Doesn't make you feel groggy when you wake up like Diphenhydramine does.
It's really mild, but does seem to help me sleep better when I'm in a sober phase and would otherwise have trouble going to sleep. I like to take it 1-2 hours before I want to go to sleep instead of the recommended 30 mins or whatever.

Been working...too much tho, haven’t had a day off all month. Tomorrow looks like it’s a half day, so I’ll be able to grocery shop and prep some meals.

I need to start eating more again, I withered away in July and still feel way too skinny. I had a lot of gains saved up to burn, but I think I’v been in denial about how bad it feels to see my mass shrink.

I have to admit that I haven’t even tried to get back into the swing of lifting and protein/creatine loading. Lots of physical work every single day out in the hot sun is my excuse, but my plan for the second half of August is to :

-Unplug entirely when I get home. Maybe listen to a podcast while I cook and eat, idk, but I wanna be in a long wind down mode all evening so I can sleep sooner and...

-Wake up earlier, stretch longer and more intently, eat a big meal and then maybe check my forum notifications while I drink a protein shake in preparation for...

-Getting back into my very satisfying weight lifting routine on my home bench. It’s only half an hour of food/shake prep time and maybe 40 minutes of intense workout, so I need to set aside that extra hour every morning to get back to where I wanna be.

My other goals are still on track.

Been talking to/seeking God’s advice more and openly talking to others about casual faith based stuff. I’m not evangelizing or anything, just finding little ways to tap into that blessed vein and spread love. It’s weird, but it works. You can see the peace it brings people and I know it helps me too.

Another thread brought up the phenomenon of losing optimism and I really identified with the concept. I’m in a strange limbo emotionally and feel almost indifferent to so many things. It’s a hollow feeling, doesn’t feel good or bad. But I’m making progress in that department, might need some more time off to reset that chemical function or something.

Thanks for hearing me out and giving me a space to set down my goals. I really do hope you guys are thriving in your endeavors of improvement. Your gains benefit us all πŸ’ͺ🏼
