Agoraphobia flares up something fierce when I’m depressed, been mostly holed up indoors for weeks.
Same here and I know those feels. A month or two ago, I was literally driving around (the city in which I live) afraid that some random nigger was going to shoot me in my car -- it got that bad. Travelling out of state for a few days really helped me overcome that.

Getting rid of a drinking habit by (over)eating: is that a thing? Tried something along these lines (eating lots of fruits in the evening), but felt a bit like a health nut.

I would add Vaping to your list of things to abstain from. The chemicals/oils that are used to create 'The Vape' when activated (ignited to create a gaseous form) can end up being not only being toxic, but reforms in your lungs as a sticky glue that can greatly reduce lung capacity as well as create COPD.

I also suggest that you take supplements to increase your testosterone, such as mega-dosing Vitamin D. I have been doing this for weeks now, and it seriously has increased my sex drive as well as my stamina, overall health, mood and drive to succeed.

Exercise greatly helps. I don't mean you need to be a gym rat, actually most of those gym Rats are fucking faggot anyway, but I do think that walking 30 minutes a day, weekend hikes, and regular sex with a female partner is a must for overall mental and physical health.
Use zinc too!

would it be ok if i posted here with updates? kinda like a diary, every once in a while.

so i brought all my chairs to my parents house, and instead of just standing i walk around the room, which is even better.
i had a few thoughts along the lines of "i will start tomorrow" but it is too hot to have garbage food anyway and the stores close in a few hours and i dont have access to money.
couldn't get myself to go hiking because i am addicted to entertainment and i wasn't able to find a decent podcast.
have to work on that as well.

Stay hydrated! August is gonna be a hot one. If your an addict, expect to trade one addiction for a new one and try to make it a healthy addiction (EX: exercise or mental activities, not gambling or a "safer" drug).
I cut out alcohol back in October. Cut out Kratom back in December and all other OTC's in January. I put on about 20lbs because food and sleep became my new addiction. When the Chinese virus hit, Got my Trump bucks and bought a Fitbit. I started to become active.
Dropped 30lbs fat and put on some solid muscle mass. Cleaned my diet, worked on my sleep, tracked my steps and home workouts. Did all of this while banging out 40+ hour work weeks, three 2 hour a night online courses and juggling a marriage and a little one.
Now my new addictions are exercising, caffeine and protein (still vaping nico). Sex drive has driven up and mental alertness is peak.
That was my break from DS and it was a very PRODUCTIVE break.
Best of luck and NEVER give up Goys.

I didn’t want to say it in the OP but I’m also taking a break from the news for a month. I’m definitely addicted to browsing DS and just need a break from it all. This thread is the only one I’ll read and post in for the month.

i am addicted to entertainment and i wasn't able to find a decent podcast.

Iv been heavily addicted to podcasts for 10 solid years. It’s an undeniable defining characteristic of mine when I assess myself, honestly it deserves an entire thread. There are many positive and negative side effects and I often consider how hard it would be to have to just sit with my own damn thoughts for once!

Yeesh, I think I too might work on thinning down my earbud time this month. I appreciate the challenge Nathaniel...

For some reason it’s easier for me to imagine cutting down on my nightly 1-2 hours of TV. It’s so obviously degenerate, corrupt and repetitive... but I bet it would be hard to quit completely. This damn talking box raised us, right?

Anyway, let’s all keep each other posted. It’ll make everything much easier if we know we’re all going through it together ✊🏻

I just added planks two weeks ago so in 6 weeks I want 2 minutes.

It's a goal, its published. It can happen now!

My good friend zig Ziegler used to say
" you gotta have goals otherwise you're just a wandering generality"

He was also a proponant of writing down your goals.

Since I survived my first DUI the other night by a miracle, I clearly need to get back to my strict no-drinking policy. Two years sober made me complacent, I guess this happens to lots of recovering drinkers. Either way, it seems God didn't want to take me even though by all rights I should have died. NO MORE DRINKING! NEVER AGAIN.

teetotallers were significnatly more likely to die than their compatriots when serving as pilots in the british air-force during WW2. there is something wrong with never drinking at all, just as there is something wrong with drinking too much or too often.

I'm going to try the body builder work out routine of focusnig on a single muscle group for an entire hour and then resting it for 3 days. previously I'd just been doing every muscle every day in that same time frame

Been a rough couple days, mainly without the kratom, and especially with no caffeine. I was gonna do no coffee just tea but decided to go zero caffeine instead. Been lagging in the afternoons. Feels weird being completely sober from everything. Hoping I’ll level out in a few days.

Ive had a super productive day of work so far though, most focused work I’ve done in a long time.

I work from home right now with this grids virus so I think its ver important to make your environment a part of helping you achieve your goals. Like the other stormer who ditched his chairs. Having a clean and uncluttered room, made bed, gym clothes ready, food prepped - instead of micro tears at your psyche, a purposeful space facilitates your mission. Also take stock of your day, you will be able to easily spot where you are sinking your energy. I was on the twitter/DS/twitter/fucking rando blogs/DS rollercoaster for hours at a time. I was sinking my energy into mental masturbation. I encourage others to post their progress. Takebackourfuture.mp4

Decided this is a bad time for no caffeine. I was dragging so hard esp in the afternoon. Had an earl gray today, fixed me right up. Amazing what just a little caffeine can do.

How’s everyone else doing so far? Almost a week into August. If you’ve slipped up, just start again tomorrow.

Its august 7th. I got to 1:35 seconds this morning. Might try 1:45 next week.

I'm doing decent. have been fasting steadily and had a refeed, with less calories than i was planning to but nonetheless. figured that most of my cravings are from me dumping salt during the fast so i upped by salt intake big time and i feel pretty great. been standing a lot, but because it is boring as fuck to stand in front of the computer i have been doing a bunch of house work so as a byproduct my place looks is super clean.
when i do fasts, things that usually entertain me are now boring, which forces me to be productive and it makes days go by quicker. it's always fascinating to see.
