Straight from our very trusted Kremlin government-owned news source RT:
Refusing to be vaccinated against Covid-19 is a ’sin’ & anti-vaxxers must spend their life repenting, says Russian Orthodox Church

Those who refuse to be vaccinated against Covid-19 are committing a sin they will have to repent for the rest of their lives. That’s according to the Russian Orthodox Church, whose spokesman said rejecting a jab is selfish.
Speaking to TV channel Russia 24, the head of the Russia Orthodox Church’s Department for External Church Relations, Metropolitan Hilarion, explained that his parishioners regularly repent to him for not being vaccinated. They feel guilty because they passed the virus on to someone else who eventually died, he claimed.
“They come and say, ‘How am I supposed to live with this now?’ And it’s hard for even me to say how to live with it,” he explained. “All your life, you have to make up for the sin you committed.”
“The sin is thinking about yourself instead of thinking about other people,”
the metropolitan said. “We are responsible – each of us – not only for ourselves and not only for our loved ones, but also for all those who come into contact with us.”

In recent months, the Church has been more vocal about its support for the government’s vaccination program. Metropolitan Hilarion has regularly spoken on TV about the need to follow the rules and take precautions to avoid infection. In June, the cleric revealed his “positive attitude” towards the government initiative to impose compulsory vaccination on those working in the service sector.

“Of course, it is desirable to observe the principle of voluntariness in relation to vaccinations – the principle that was stated from the very beginning,” he explained. “But there is also the principle of people’s responsibility for the lives of other people.”

READ MORE: Hammered by infectious new Delta variant, Russia is now finding it has to get deadly serious about Covid-19 vaccine reluctance

Russia is currently in the midst of a new wave of Covid-19. On Monday, the authorities announced that there had been 24,353 new cases – a considerable rise from the 9,145 recorded on June 5, just one month ago. The increase in infections is being put down to the emergence of the Delta variant within the country, leading to Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin imposing restrictions on cafes, bars, and restaurants in the capital.

------------------------------------------

Also don't forget, Russia has mandatory vaccination in many large, populated regions and cities. If 60% people don't get vaccinated, they will be fired at some point or face their businesses getting closed.
Sobyanin’s call for mandatory vaccinations — requiring businesses to ensure 60% of their employees are dosed — reflects a worsening pandemic situation in the Russian capital and will affect two million people.

Despite over 60% of Russians opposing obligatory vaccinations, according to a poll released Thursday, authorities in other regions have announced similar moves, and President Vladimir Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov has backed the policy.

He said the government should take on more of the costs for promoting the vaccine and use some carrots as well as sticks. He and others have suggested free metro cards or even cash handouts of up to 10,000 rubles ($140), rather than just threats of fines — up to one million rubles ($14,000) — or forced closure for businesses that don’t meet the 60% threshold by July 15.

According to a February survey by the independent Levada Center pollster, 64% of Russians believe the conspiracy theory that the coronavirus is a bioweapon created by humans.

MOSCOW (AP) — Authorities in four Russian regions have made coronavirus vaccines mandatory this week for workers in retail, education and other service sectors, part of an effort to boost the country’s low immunization rates as COVID-19 infections continue to soar.
Moscow, where infection tallies spiked sharply this month, first announced the requirement Wednesday, and the surrounding Moscow region, the Siberian region of Kemerovo and the Far East region of Sakhalin promptly followed.

Pope, the leader of Catholic church, also supports it!

At least they'll have a long "rest of their lives", unlike people who take the vax.
It's pretty crazy seeing everything that you believed in and trusted being shown to be a facade.
Yeah, first Duterte, now the Russians. There's no place to emigrate to, so we have to shelter in place. Not from Covid but from soldiers with needles.

Damn. The Russkies are hyping the ridiculous Delta variant like everybody else. Isn't the Sputnik jab a traditional vaccine, not mRNA, though?

With the Jews going so hard on Russia, how will they explain Russia is bad for this, or will they have to admit Russia is good?

Yes - this is like out of left field - I'm blown away. There's Father Spyridon - based in the UK - he's very based. One of his books details the Luciferian history of the NWO movement and he pulls no punches. So I can't believe that he'd go along with this.

The seeking for constant division is from the Devil. I don’t think the Russian Orthodox Church has issued anything on this, nor has ROCOR. It’s still surprising.

Some commenters on RT are saying that this was just one priest, though, and that it's not the official position of the Russian Church.
Its not the official position of the Russian church but quite a few of the high ranking officials have sold out. This article being the latest example. There is push back with the common priests and especially the monks though. Recently the top monk at the Valaam monastery which is very famous and respected amongst the Orthodox all over the world said the vaccine would be mandatory and the rest of the monks said in that case they would be leaving. The top monk backed down. Like Jack said above this is the devil causing division, we are seeing the actual flock of Christ’s being separated from the gay wolfs in sheeps clothing.

Once again, mentioning the new case rate but never details on deaths and demography of those dead, i.e 90 year Olds who are susceptible to death from a normal flu anyway.
How many are actually dying and how old are they? fuckers.

Fuck no most Russian's are far too distrustful of authority to get the jab just because some cleric says too. Orthodox church only stays together at all because they are all good at agreeing to disagree.

I don't think there is any consensus among the Russian Orthodox Church in this either. There was, for example word going around that the monks and lay workers at Valaam monastery had to receive mandatory injections, but this has been rescinded.

NO MANDATORY VACCINATION AT VALAAM, SAYS ROC DEPUTY ADMINISTRATOR

Monks and workers of Valaam Monastery who do not wish to receive the COVID vaccine will not be expelled from the monastery, according to His Grace Bishop Savva of Zelenograd, the Deputy Administrator of the Moscow Patriarchate.

Bp. Savva explained that Valaam Monastery is stravropegic, and therefore all major decisions require approval from the Patriarch.

His Holiness Patriarch Kirill has not endorsed mandatory vaccinations in monasteries of the Russian Orthodox Church. At this time, no monks or laborers have been expelled from the monastery.

“As for Valaam, as of today, there is no more talk of compulsion. Vladyka Pankraty is trying to exhort the brethren in a fatherly way. There can be no question of ‘eviction’ due to non-vaccination,” Bp. Savva wrote on his official Telegram channel yesterday.

His Grace Bishop Pankraty of Troitsk, the abbot of Valaam, had told RIA-Novosti last week that he was introducing a mandatory vaccination policy at the monastery, and any monks or workers who did not want to be vaccinated would have to leave the monastery. He also stated that he nearly died during his own recent bout with COVID.

At this time, we do not have any information as to the number of monks who do not wish to be vaccinated.

Bp. Savva also emphasized that the Moscow city measures on the obligatory vaccination of certain workers does not apply to religious organizations, as stated in the circular issued by His Holiness Patriarch Kirill yesterday.

And during his annual televised “Direct Line” Q and A session yesterday, President Vladimir Putin stated that he is against mandatory vaccination and explained that State Duma Deputies also opposed making the COVID vaccine mandatory on the federal level. However, according to a 1998 law, regional leaders have the right to introduce mandatory vaccination for certain categories of citizens on the recommendation of their local chief sanitary doctor.
