My own father had difficulties urinating for years and had his prostate partially removed and that problem was fixed (though they did botch the surgery leading to chronic pain from nerve damage).

My father envies your father and wishes he had a bigger prostate to help him hold his pee. Doctors can always be of assistance if your prostate is too big, but they can do nothing if it is too small.
