Project: GU's Favorite Video Games

So I have this idea (stolen from other forums, of course) to make a big list of our favorite games.

Basically: Everyone posts 10 games ITT until the 30th of June 11:59 PM (Pacific Time, so everyone gets a chance) and then I will sum it all up and make a list out of all nominations and rank the games based on the number of mentions.

So I will just start. For the record: the order doesn't matter. I'll just put it in alphabetical order, because... whatever, I'm an autistic Kraut.

I will limit myself by only mentioning one game per franchise/series, so the list will be a little diverse, because diversity is our strength. ;-)

I will not make this a rule, but I think it will be more interesting.

So here are my 10 nominations. It's really hard to break this down to only 10 games, but I'm just naming ten games that left a massive impact on me and that I'm still going back to after years, so sorry if this is some kind of gay nostalgia posting:

When I think of my personal top 10 games, I think of games I can play over and over without getting bored. So in no particular order:

Resident Evil 4
The original Doom games
Minecraft
King’s Quest series
Far Cry 3
Kerbal Space Program
Bioshock
New Super Mario Bros
Dragon Quest Rocket Slimes

Not saying these are the greatest games of all time, just my personal favorites. Probably most of them are on the list because of nostalgia from when I was a kid

Most of my favorites are from the SNES era.

it was the breathing sound of Re-generator Zombies for me and well shit as long as we are showing age....my first addiction besides Tetris on gameboy was Tomb Raider 1 on PS1 now that I think of it

Yeah, I just want to limit it, because it gets a little bit too confusing otherwise. And I also want to force people to take a decision. I could include half of Anglin's list into my extended list (and also Gothic 1 from your list, it's basically a flip the coin decision for me to put in Gothic 2 instead), but I think 10 is a good number.

And how I said, this is just a project, maybe we can do another one sometime in the future with different rules, etc.

Hey @Staufer after we get a lot of feedback of members' favorites maybe you can post a poll with all the Games mentioned in the thread and everybody chooses up to ten on the selection - if it has that functionality?

We can make other type of lists, for example, best indie games or best hidden gems, etc.

But I think we should first try with the best game list.

I would only do this if we have a draw on the deadline day.

• Team Fortress 2 - I hat this game
• Don't Starve Series - charming and addictive
• Factorio - autism incarnate
• Diablo 2 - I'm getting autism bumps thinking about it.
• World of Warcraft (up til WOTLK) - it was good
• Neverwinter Nights - online was groundbreaking at the time
• Fallout 2 - you can be a female retard who gets tricked into doing porn, after which, you get a debuff from swallowing too much jizz
• Stardew Valley - comfy the game. Can put swastika shaped torches in front of the coal burner's house.
• Minecraft - it's genuinely enjoyable.
• Divinity Original Sin II - best modern RPG hands down. You can sink 80 hours into it before act III

I loved WC3 online. It was really a good challenge, and it was the first good ladder system that would match you with people who matched your skill. I would play 2 or C&C or any of the classics if it had that matching system.
