Large- scale NATO exercises Defender Europe 2022, which started in Poland in early May, are developing according to an "unusual" scenario. According to Polish military expert Michal Fischer , the maneuvers that the soldiers practice are more like "offensive" rather than defensive.
As Fischer emphasized, among other things, the alliance deployed its forces in relative proximity to the Kaliningrad region of Russia.

According to the military expert, NATO's actions are conditioned by the situation in Ukraine and the alliance is working out maneuvers to return the lost "territories", which is unusual for a bloc that positions itself as defensive. In total, 18 thousand soldiers from more than 20 states were involved in the exercises."Unusual exercises at Defender Europe 2022," Fischer explained in an interview with Polityka . "From a tactical point of view, offensive actions - a counterattack or a counteroffensive, are much more difficult to implement."
