Captain, swab! Stories, I've got a million of em. I've wrung more salt water out of my socks than most people will ever sail over in their life.
Nobody has better stories than a boat captain. Nobody.

I'm about to get back into it, I'm working on renewing my licenses right now. I'm going into running supply boats for the offshore oil rigs out in the Gulf.
Cha-ching!

Like 15 years for the youngtards. Who will start whining that their life is over at 30.
Good thread. Judging by the state of the millennials I interact with, they're already looking and acting middle-aged. Lots of flab, wrinkles, and gray hair. By comparison, I'm now in my early 40's and I'm not aging nearly as fast as these people - just a few errant grey hairs around the temple and no facial wrinkles despite a lot of heavy sun exposure.

Case in point. Just yesterday, a millennial buddy (aged 38) with a Homer Simpson physique and was a head full of gray hair was ribbing me at the bar about having "old man balls," which was so jarringly misplaced that I just humored him and nodded my assent while thinking, "Bro."

That said, yeah I am feeling the effects of aging in terms of occasional lower back pain realizing that I can't just jump into hard workouts without a warmup. A couple weeks ago, I severely strained my lower back just doing pistol squats in the living room. It was so bad that I spent a good chunk of the two days laying on the floor and doing medical qigong. Work was distinctly unpleasant for a few days because of my hubris (aspirin helped a lot, surprisingly.) It made me realize that I have to improve my diet and impose a disciplined, daily recuperative regimen.

Taoist sexual practices (traditional Chinese: ζˆΏδΈθ‘“; simplified Chinese: 房中术; pinyin: fΓ‘ngzhōngshΓΉ; lit. 'arts of the bedchamber') are the ways Taoists may practice sexual activity. These practices are also known as "joining energy" or "the joining of the essences". Practitioners believe that by performing these sexual arts, one can stay in good health, and attain longevity or spiritual advancement.[1][2][3]

Qi (lifeforce) and jing (essence)[edit]
The basis of all Taoist thinking is that qi (ζ°£) is part of everything in existence.[5] Qi is related to another energetic substance contained in the human body known as jing (η²Ύ), and once all this has been expended the body dies. Jing can be lost in many ways, but most notably through the loss of body fluids. Taoists may use practices to stimulate/increase and conserve their bodily fluids to great extents. The fluid believed to contain the most jing is semen. Therefore, Taoists believe in decreasing the frequency of, or totally avoiding, ejaculation in order to conserve life essence.[6]
I've studied and practiced this stuff but man, it feels good to blast. I want my honey nut.

Don't you have to take the vaccine though?

Regarding the raw garlic, I would consider it to be the only food with miraculous effects.
I eat 1-3 cloves before bed, and if I can sone before training. It does wonders for your respiratory system, and greatly improves sleep and blood circulation during training.

A very easy, basic, tasty and extremely healthy mexican hot sauce recipe. This is how actual mexicans make homemade style sauce.

1 bunch cilantro (remove and use leaves only, discard stems as they are bitter)
a quarter cup or so apple cider vinegar
1 6 oz can fire roasted green chilis
3 12 oz cans of diced tomatoes
3 or however many cloves of garlic (I recommend going heavy, I use like 6 cloves)

Put it all in a blender and let it rip until liquified. Put it in a jar in he fridge and let it sit over night so all the ingredients can blend together properly.

You can also add cayenne pepper, chili powder, cumin and oregano in whatever amounts make you happy. Probably the healthiest sauce you can eat, I go through a batch a week or so.

Recently got two wisdom teeth extracted, the rest was all good, almost 50. Get any problems with your teeth fixed, if you can afford it, it might not be feasible in a year.

That's what I'm worried about, because these are all big companies.
If you don't mind, please let me know what they say about the vaccine. I wanted to join the merchant marine, but I didn't because it was almost certain that they would require it. Even if the companies allow for exemptions, it's possible that the foreign countries that you enter won't.

sorry but what exact age is middle?
It really depends on natural estimated life expectancy.

For example, on both sides of my family, we have memebers who live into their late 90s to early 100s quite often. Some peoples families die earlier naturally. I am middle age for my families natural life expectancy at 45, though if I take care of myself(which I do) I will probably live to a hundred or more. So 50 would have been middle age at that point.

Used to really like oilfield schedules, as I've gotten older though I have a lot of trouble with interrupted sleeping patterns (working nights), after having osteo corrective surgeries. Oh well I had a good run of 15 years of 50/50 work schedules, either 7 and 7 or 14 and 14. My last college try was a 14 and 7 and I wanted to hang myself with working that schedule after the previously mentioned surgeries

One big thing I've noticed staring down the barrel of 50 is it being nearly impossible to exercise and do heavy labor for work simultaneously. My winter job this past year had me weighing in the low mid 160 lb range, 10+ hours of heavy labor outdoors 5 days a week. Leading up to this winter I've gotten my weight back up to 180 lb range, sort of swole from lifting, relaxing, sleeping. Deep sleep is THE most important facet of maintaining a minimal chronic pain lifestyle
