This forum has a wealth of the knowledge. When it comes to health, I have studied the childhood vaccine stuff (for my children) to make an informed decision about that. I have studied the Covid issue and how best to supplement yourself when you get a cold and/or are around the vaxed shedders. I am active and eat well. When it comes to food and what I put into my body I want the high quality stuff in general.

BUT. I don't know much about issues like testosterone, what to avoid eating, what to eat, what supplements to take, not to take, etc..

So, any help is much appreciated.

I have to say that two things have brought me back from feeling old and stiff: cutting gluten and pounding the bovine collagen.

Gluten was causing constant low-level inflammation and you start losing disk space in your back eventually. Also it is in most junk food so there is collateral benefit.

The beef collagen peptides you can get relatively cheap and mix with smoothies or juice or just milk. There are other collagen powders but the cow stuff you can eat as much as you want. After taking a few scoops a day for a month my hair thickened up again, nails got hard, teeth and joints feel stronger. Eating the cartilage off chicken wings helps with this too, most people leave that part and it is the healthiest bit. If a girl lets you finish off her wing cartilage then you know you found The One!

pounding the bovine collagen.
I always eyeball the stuff when Iโ€™m shopping for protein powder and creatine (which is suddenly very scarce and expensive). It must help with muscle growth/repair too, right? Might start working that into the routine.
my hair thickened up again, nails got hard, teeth and joints feel stronger.
Biotin pills/powder gives me good results in those departments as well.

Sorry to derail but is the vax shedding a proven fact ?
And what would you recommend ?

Ivermectin taken prophylactically, Vitamin D - 3, and Vitamin C.

If you want to go balls to the wall, and I DO recommend always going balls to the wall, make what this guy made, and take it as a shot daily. I'm around these vaxed out freaks a lot, so, I am making this this week because fall and winter is coming and I don't want to get sick.

Go to 12.20 seconds: If you gotta be around the vaxed

Also, somewhere on Mike Adams Brighteon he makes something to take to help against the shedders. https://www.brighteon.com/channels/hrreport

O, and shedding is a proven fact. They changed the law in Germany that said no vaccines that produce shedding allowed, because they knew their vaccines shed.

Also, a huge amount of anecdotal reports of women having problems with their vaginas and other sickness after people being around vaxers.

Shedding is real.

+1000

In the 1970's American Farmers switched to growing a genetically modified type of dwarf wheat that produced far greater yields. Problem is, it also wrecks your immune and glucose systems. It's not just gluten. It's wheat.

My knees and elbows are wrecked from owning an Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu academy for 25 years. Repetitive stress injury. The pain is incredible.

I ran across a book called Wheatbelly and tried it. Amazing results. Read this book. Try going off wheat for a month. You will be amazed.

I eat zero wheat. None. If I slip at a party and eat so much as a single cup cake or flour tortilla, my joints light up like a Christmas tree, and I have to take three thousand milligrams of Ibuprofen the next day to function.

Plus, I do the usual stuff of No Sugar, Low-Carbs, and plenty of Natural Fats in my diet. I still basically do the Zone Diet all us jiu-jitsu guys latched onto in the late 90's.

Zinc, zinc and zinc.

Ensure you are getting natural vitamin D through sunlight. Expose as much of your skin to sunlight as you can. Take zinc daily.

This one right here:

Eat clean!

Avoid shitty carbs. If you're going to carb do it with rice or potatoes but not every day.

High protein meats fill of nutrients. Liver is the biggest bang for your buck hands down. After a 3 to 4 day fast it's the first meal I eat.

Broccoli, onions are T builders as well.

NO SUGAR! ITS POISON. Stay away from sweets.

And you got to lift.

Testosterone Week: A Short Primer on How T Is Made

Vintage gym health teacher pointing out male anatomy on blackboard.

In yesterdayโ€™s post we discussed the benefits of maintaining optimal testosterone levels and why you should care about your T. Today weโ€™re going to look into the different kinds of testosterone that exist and how our body produces it. Grasping how testosterone works will help us understand why our own levels may be low and what we can do to boost it in our bodies.
Letโ€™s get started.
The Three Sub-Types of Testosterone
Testosterone is a 19-carbon steroid hormone made from cholesterol that, as we discussed yesterday, provides a whole host of benefits. On average, a manโ€™s body produces about 7 mg of testosterone a day, but not all of that T floating in our bloodstream can be used by our bodies. Our total testosterone can be broken down into the following three sub-types:
1. Free Testosterone. This is testosterone in its purest form. Itโ€™s the crack of testosterone, if you will. The reason itโ€™s called โ€œfreeโ€ is because there arenโ€™t any proteins attached to it. Unbound to other molecules, free T can enter cells and activate receptors in order to work its virile magic on your body and mind. Despite free testosteroneโ€™s benefits, it makes up only 2 to 3 percent of our total testosterone levels. To maximize the benefits of T, we want to do what we can to increase the amount of free testosterone in our bloodstream. On Thursday, Iโ€™ll share what science suggests we can do to help increase free T.
2. SHBG-bound Testosterone. About 40 to 50 percent of our total testosterone is bound to a protein called sex hormone-binding-globulin (SHBG). SHBG is produced in our livers and plays an important role in regulating the amount of free testosterone in our bodies. The downside to SHBG-bound T is that itโ€™s biologically inactive, meaning our bodies canโ€™t use this type of testosterone to help build muscles or boost our mood. SHBG isnโ€™t bad, but too much of it is. Excess SHBG is why itโ€™s possible to have high total testosterone levels, but still suffer symptoms of testosterone deficiency โ€” the SHBG binds itself to too much testosterone and doesnโ€™t leave enough of the pure stuff. Research suggests that diet and lifestyle changes can help reduce the amount of SHBG in our system, making more free T available.
3. Albumin-bound Testosterone. The rest of our testosterone is bound to a protein called albumin. Albumin is a protein produced in the liver, and its job is to stabilize extra-cellular fluid volumes. Like SHBG-bound testosterone, albumin-bound testosterone is biologically inactive. However, unlike SHBG-bound T, the bind between albumin and testosterone is weak and can be easily broken in order to create free testosterone when needed. Because albumin-bound testosterone is easily converted to free T, some labs lump it together with free testosterone whenever you get tested.
Where & How Testosterone Is Made
A small percentage of testosterone is made in the adrenal glands on top of our kidneys. But the lionโ€™s share โ€” 95% of it โ€” is made in our testicles.

The process by which our testicles produce T resembles a Rube Goldberg contraption, except instead of mice and desk fans moving the process along, our body uses hormones. Below is the Readerโ€™s Digest version of the complex process by which our testicles create testosterone.
1. The whole thing gets kicked off in our brain. When our hypothalamus detects that our body needs more testosterone, it secretes a hormone called gonadotropin-releasing hormone. The gonadotropin-releasing hormone makes its way over to the pituitary gland in the back of our brain.
2. When our pituitary gland detects the gonadotropin-releasing hormone, it starts producing two hormones: 1) follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinzing hormone (LH). The FSH and LH hitch a ride down to our testicles on the freeway that is our bloodstream.
3. When the FSH and LH reach our testicles, they tell them to do two different things. FSH kicks off sperm production, while LH stimulates the Leydig cells in our testicles to create more testosterone.
4. Through a complex process that Iโ€™m not even going to attempt to describe, our testiclesโ€™ Leydig cells convert cholesterol into testosterone. Thatโ€™s right, cholesterol is the building block of testosterone. Leydig cells get most of what they need to produce T by simply absorbing the cholesterol floating around in our blood from the bacon and eggs we ate in the morning. If thereโ€™s not enough cholesterol in our blood, our testicles can produce a bit of it so that the Leydig cells can convert it to testosterone. But relying too much on cholesterol produced by our nuts (of the non-almond variety) can actually inhibit our Leydig cells from producing T. You gotta eat those eggs!
5. Once T is produced, itโ€™s sent back into our bloodstream. Most of it immediately attaches to SHBG and albumin, becoming biologically inert. The small percentage that remains free and unbound circulates around and starts manning up our minds and bodies. When our hypothalamus detects that we have enough T in our blood, it signals the pituitary gland to quit secreting LH so our testicles ramp down T production.
And that, my friends, is (roughly) how testosterone is made. Hereโ€™s a flowchart of the process for you visual learners out there:
Flowchart how testosterone is made.
Source: Wikipedia
As you can see, the process by which our bodies produce T is complex. This complexity means there are a myriad of ways it can get off kilter and cause our levels to drop. Just from reading about how T is made, youโ€™ve probably thought of some factors on your own that might affect T levels. Weโ€™ll delve more into that on Thursday. All in good time.
Tomorrow weโ€™ll take a look at whatโ€™s considered a โ€œnormalโ€ testosterone level and explore the myriad of ways to get your testosterone tested.
Until next time, stay manly.

Sometimes I forget this place is boomer central, thanks for the reminder.

Best of luck with your health grandpas.
the best time to get on a longevity plan is at about 30, the longer you wait to decide you want to live an active healthy boomer life the harder it is to retrain your body for the fact that YES you too could mature into a boomer like creature.

aging well starts at early kid...enjoy the boomerismists!

Middle aged and still this much of a horny bastard that you need to do fucking nofap? Oh god the absolute horror, here I was looking forward to one of the few supposed benefits of boomering.

Only in my mid 20s and I've already lost 90% of my appetite to the point where it feels like nothing more than a literal biweekly chore. And my t levels are fine thank you very much, I did in fact get them checked.

Taoist sexual practices (traditional Chinese: ๆˆฟไธญ่ก“; simplified Chinese: ๆˆฟไธญๆœฏ; pinyin: fรกngzhลngshรน; lit. 'arts of the bedchamber') are the ways Taoists may practice sexual activity. These practices are also known as "joining energy" or "the joining of the essences". Practitioners believe that by performing these sexual arts, one can stay in good health, and attain longevity or spiritual advancement.[1][2][3]

Qi (lifeforce) and jing (essence)[edit]
The basis of all Taoist thinking is that qi (ๆฐฃ) is part of everything in existence.[5] Qi is related to another energetic substance contained in the human body known as jing (็ฒพ), and once all this has been expended the body dies. Jing can be lost in many ways, but most notably through the loss of body fluids. Taoists may use practices to stimulate/increase and conserve their bodily fluids to great extents. The fluid believed to contain the most jing is semen. Therefore, Taoists believe in decreasing the frequency of, or totally avoiding, ejaculation in order to conserve life essence.[6]

Do strength training, squat, deadlift, bench press, press, and as assistance chin-ups and cleans(the occasional hill sprint is also useful). Aim to have 1g of protein per pound of bodyweight, eat 3-6 whole eggs every day (it's nature's multivitamin), consume meat and dairy, sleep as much as possible(sleep is the most anabolic activity there is).
Increase the weights you are handling every workout/week first by 5 pound increments, later by 2.5 Pounds. You are still pretty young and will be amazed at your increase in strength and muscle mass.
Also, if you are not already fat, don't be afraid to gain a little bit of fat, the increase in muscle mass will be definitly worth it.
