You just know they'll wind up with another Error 37 situation, because this game can't be played offline.

I wish I could just get this through Steam cause I am not looking forward to have to use that Blizzard launcher to buy and play 1 game, if I even buy it.

After the WC3 remake, I have exactly zero faith. Honestly, I don't want to hear anything about this Diablo 2 remake. It is fundamentally an exciting premise, but there is just now way it won't be a pile of shit.

Yes, I know the WC3 team got mostly fired or demoted or whatever - but then why hasn't the game been fixed, a year and a half later? It still is not fixed. All of the major problems still exist. They could have hired any competent indie studio to come in and fix the game and they didn't.

Video games are not compatible with the model of publicly traded companies. Period. Point of absolute fact.

The only thing you're going to get that isn't garbage from big companies is non-innovative shooters. Everything else is going to be garbage, every time. This crisis of big gaming is only going to continue to get worse.

Nothing of value is compatible with the model of publicly traded companies. All of these giant companies are controlled by a tiny ideological elite. Basically we're converging on something like old-fashioned communism, where all consumer products become complete garbage.

Why bother fixing WC3 when the fans are keeping servers alive and patching the game for them? I want to check it out again with the old graphics, the only reason I stopped was because the backstabbing and trolling got out of hand and supposedly that is down on the fan servers.

Don't be a CONSOOOOOMER brother. Wait for reviews and learn about how this product will differ from the original title. As always, NO PREORDERING!!!

Based on Blizzards modern globohomo shenanigans as of late, pirating this game should be the default procedure out of a principled goycott.

I played a bit of Diablo 2 when I was a kid years ago back in the early 00's. I got to the desert area but then got bored with its repetitive game structure after that.

INB4 they do another Warcraft 3 reforged fiasco with this because I learned many years ago you cannot get anything good from corporate game studios at this point.

Strange, because I've heard the opposite multiple times.

EDIT: If I had to guess, the PC version won't have an offline mode, but the console versions will. They can't justify it on consoles like they can on PC; Diablo 3 proved that.

I have been watching videos on this and I hope they don't fuck it up. I have been waiting for D2 remaster for a while now. I want a Diablo game. Grim Dawn, Titan Quest and all the other Diablo clones on Steam are good, but they aren't Diablo.

I was digging around in my closet the other day looking for the Diablo II Battle Chest I bought at Walmart years ago, probably around 2013. I think I paid like $25 for it and it used to be $30-$40. Mine didn't come with the copy of Diablo though. All I got is the CD's for Diablo II and the expansion. It also has the two old thick manuals and the Brady Games Strategy guide for Diablo II and the expansion. So I would have a strategy guide for the game and I could actually use it if I get stuck some where. Plus it has info on all the items, weapons, demons and so on.

Just reading all the game lore stuff in the manuals and strategy guide is fun.

Here is a video from a guy who has been playing the alpha. Basically he says so far it looks good.

That isn't what I have heard. I have heard in several videos now that there is an offline mode. So I take it that there will be one for the PC as well. I also heard you will be able to use a character editor in offline mode. I think the issue is they don't want people playing in offline mode and doing cheater stuff and then hopping back into online mode.

The paladin in Diablo II was always dark.
True, but could at least imagine some dark middle easterner with something close to European features or whatever. Now he looks like straight from the motherland. Sorceress was also kind of dark. Maybe one should be thankful they haven't turned her into a negress yet.

I got my Diablo II Battle Chest out again and looked through the manuals and the strategy guide but I couldn't find a good picture. So all I have is online references. The Paladin was that way in the original game. You are going to put armor on all these characters anyway, especially helmets so you won't notice anyway. But yeah he was always negro looking. lol

The same for the sorceress was also always dark, but more like a light skinned Middle Eastern looking. She was obviously never white. The complaint people have about that is the small amount of under boob she had in the original has been done away with in the remake/remaster.

Also people are saying the amazon looks too old and the face looks too masculine. I kind of agreed but going back and looking at some of the pictures of the original amazon she looks about right. The original always had a strong face and was never very attractive. Plus it's an Amazon warrior they aren't going to be attractive women. You would kind of expect an Amazon to not be some kind of dainty woman. lol

But like I said, everyone is going to cover them in armor suits and shit anyway. The game is going to be isometric so you won't see much of the character models.

As far as changing the paladin from the original I would prefer the game be as close to the original as possible. My main concern is them fucking with the dark and gritty atmosphere of the game. I don't need under boob or hot amazon that looks more like a pornstar. Like I said in a comment on a YouTube video, if there were topless female demons in the game then leave them in. If someone said something that might considered offensive now then leave it in. I want as close to a faithful remake as I can get. The whole point of the remakes is we can get updated versions of old games without the SJW garbage in them. Basically good games that look good and play better.

At 14:30 this guy talks about the advantages of button mapping with console controllers over the pc keyboard/mouse

I've watched about a dozen D2R testing vids. In one of the vids (I can't remember which) the streamer said the console controller targeting is better than pc targeting.
