I don't start threads often, other than my article threads. I'm still going to finish the AMA I swear.

But lately my writing hasn't been great, I don't think. I've been doing self-criticism/analysis and it seems to have peaked.

Part of the problem is obviously just the state of the news cycle, and the fact that I'm trying to avoid totally unadulterated doom-mongering (which is my instinct right now).

I wanted to get some feedback from you all: what is good, what isn't good, what can be improved, topic suggestions, whatever.

For example, someone said they thought the recent article about that Jew Abramson trying to get Alex Jones arrested was too arduous. I can see that.

If you don't want to be negative, you can just say what you do like.

Also, I'm open to bringing back more edgy humor. I don't really want to do that, but maybe there's a way to do it that doesn't feel cringe.

I stopped with the edgy humor in large part because I don't want to become [REDACTED] or [REDACTED], who are two guys who are now in their 40s and 50s trying to do edgy stuff that was funny in the 1990s and now just comes across as pathetic.

Also, the fact is, I successfully pushed that stuff so hard that it was genuinely no longer shocking, which kind of defeated the point. There is a fed site that I won't link to that tried to rip off the use of racial slurs and then mix it with a neocon anti-Russia/China agenda, and I spent like an hour reading through it maybe a year and a half ago and was like "this is the worst thing I've ever seen." Aside from the fact it was pushing State Department talking points, it was 100% try-hard and 1000% cringe. So the slurs themselves are not just automatically funny anymore, and it largely feels like a dead meme.

However, being able to just say GAYNIGGER LOL was an easy goto for filler content.

The one thing that is still funny is talking about beating and raping women. That will always be shocking. But the ridiculous racist/Nazi stuff seems largely played out.

Oh, and I'm planning on doing some serious reading of old Christian material and writing about that, but that will just be a once a week thing probably (I'll likely publish Sundays and then collect it in book/pdf form).

I think some of the longer stuff is still pretty good, it's just the daily trudge that I'm struggling with.

I think I could hire some more people to do what Elvis/Snake are doing. Maybe they could do a better job than those two. For anyone who hasn't noticed, I write most of that text. They format the articles and sometimes add a few sentences. They only get paid a pittance. But it's not hard work.

Anyway, this post is becoming like a shitty article - so the thing: just give me some feedback. Don't be shy.

I think right now there is a market to discuss the general cultural atmosphere. I think what could be done is talking about the general cultural zeitgeist, because that is shifting.

For example, I noticed that anime is really blowing up everywhere. So I think talking about stuff like anime, video games and other topics could work. The problem is, it takes special talent to talk about it and either a man has a genuine interest and talent at it or he doesn't. So if video games aren't within the capabilities than that is out.

I think there is an interest in this topic given how much a thread I made about coolness seemed to garner interest.

Given that the psyche of Western man was affected and keeps being affected by media, talking about it could be interesting. One of my favorite articles was about Fern Gully because it talked about something I felt but couldn't put in words. It would be interesting to look into for example comic book villain world domination stories and compare it with what is going on, what people expected and why it didn't pan out.

The issue is that either one is interested and good at it, or one isn't. Second issue is that it fits more in an essay format rather than a quick article.

The same is true for writing about books or music or religion / philosophy, which some do, but that also is essay format.

One thing would be to cover more "cool" events every so often, just to make things more fun. Like talking about some achievement in art or sport.

Personally, I feel in the mood for more chilling. It's sad streaming isn't really a thing for many reasons. I think it would be cool to talk about some fun video games.

The 3 games I think would be cool to play and talk about would be these, they fit the mood right now:

Mostly for the atmosphere.

In terms of short articles, maybe throwing in something interesting that happens, just to raise mood

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fAEBNEscL0c

Right now, the only things that I see as being good moves would be essays about books, games, art, etc. But that is long. And for short items quick video game news or other stuff like could work as filler.

Can't recommend doing much different than what is being done, besides having more fun filler, either stuff about retro games, stuff like the Asian swordfight or Youtuber drama news like the story of OK boomer girl.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O_i1cAaEKvs

I think when there is less news to cover people want more mood / atmosphere. So news items for big events and the rest should be more about vibing. That's what Nick Fuentes does, when there's no news he either does video games or reacts to Youtube videos or does other vibing stuff.

Its not your fault that most of the news anymore is cleverly shaped turds passed onto the masses as content.
Alot of it is just opinion pieces called news stories written by disgenic trash with college degrees.
You can only polish the stories up soo much.
The "happenenings" are what they are, cant do anything about that.
I think you are just exhausted from doing too much with too little for too long.

Have to agree that I still appreciate your coverage and that it's the news itself that's stale.

Anyway, I sense a search for real religion and real spirituality in many people. Covering older Christian material seems like a geat idea. How did people of old deal with trying times? How should we? Those are the kind of conversations I've had lately.

You do talk about this stuff already, and religion can quickly becomed a cringe-y topic... I'll leave that to your discretion.

I really enjoyed the high flying religious articles from December and January.

We haven't done much Jew sleuthing lately, though noticing can become quite dull.

Examining historical events and talking about anthropology through a right-wing lens are fun.

I have not seen an article I haven't liked from you in a long time. Change is good, and you adapt very well to that change. When it comes to wanting to bring back really edgy humor, what I can suggest is trying to balance the edgy humor with self help sundays or more positive Christian articles. That would at least give people a feeling of hope, and not get dragged down because of how terrible the news has been lately.

Your popping in to comment lately in the forum has been a good thing I believe. I think if you have more time you should. I don't care if it is to put a member in his place, or just to hang out.

I don't have anything negative to say about any thing you write, but I am more worried about you burning yourself out mentally by working non stop. I get the funding issue. I don't have it in me to donate anything right now to help with that, so you could get more staff. That's about all I have to say about that.

I think that the present course of articles is quite well-suited to what's going on rn, style and all. If you are writing alone, I honestly don't see the way to put out really tight, thorough, and well-planned content while still covering everything that needs to be covered.

Perhaps tone down the internet culture stuff like really idiosyncratic memes, bitcoins, Elon Musk, vidya, etc. and stick to the style.

To keep things in perspective - I think that DS is the only dissident site that has zeroed in on the target. It's criticism and its angle is comprehensively Anti-System, and that's what separates it from the rest. People want to get here to get their daily dose of 'System Sucks' while also getting something constructive too. DS is woke on the System more than any other place, and compared to it, every place seems like it is being run by gullible fools. If we are living in a RL dystopia, DS is that TV which is telling you to put on those sunglasses you found in a crate by the construction yard, and this is the space that is going to become important as more people get tapped in on the essentials of the problem.

Yeah I still find pretty much all the articles good and either interesting or funny, usually both

I don't mind either way on the edgy humour, but as you say aping 2010 /pol/ would just be stale, so you'd probably have the freshen things up

I'm not really feeling that. It seems to me you wrote something recently that I thought was as good as anything you have ever written. That happens often enough that I don't think anything has peaked. Obviously you have to grind some of these articles like factory work but some of it is still very much cutting edge. I don't read anything else with seriousness and I don't recommend any other site to anyone.

Maybe you're feeling this way because it's Summer and you don't want to be inside writing while it's nice out? I can barely spend any time inside right now. I come in to get a cup of coffee and catch up a few times a day but that's all I can manage.

Take your laptop outside and sit in the sun while you're writing (watch out for snipers tho).

My only criticism is my same old one; typos. You're not doing more of these than other news sites but that isn't good enough IMO. It probably bothers me more than other people so take it FWIW.

Perhaps we should be looking for article submissions like we did for a while back in the day? Maybe there could be some kind of member vetting/voting on good articles/writers? I'm sure that's a pain though and I have no idea how it all works behind the scenes.

I like it when you do counselling for free to diverse world leaders, and or community leaders active in the LGBTQ movements, or nigger movements, or any jewish movement. It’s a noble thing.
I don’t like it when you go nuts on pants that aren’t super faggy tight, like WTF ! Chill bro chill !
1623787677661.jpeg
(Above, your mentor, H.L. Mencken, NOT wearing faggot pants; also baby Hitler did not wear tight diappers)

It’s fun and instructive when you imagine the future. But please don’t imagine it as if the heroes will have tight pants that crush the testicles.

I think you should stop saying: Β« but yeah, whatever Β». Imagine Maria Callas coughing in the middle of her aria Casta Diva:

And last but not least, create some juicy fat e-drama ! Fuck it ! Even during sinkage, the Titanic kept on singing and playing the waltzes. It’s just that the bitch ruined the movie that cunt. But the band was ALPHA ! (I think, I’m not sure I haven’t seen the whole movie, just some parts; or maybe it’s an edgy urban legend that the band kept playing, something to say in diner parties).

Going to disagree. First, it makes sense to keep things topical. These articles are like time capsules and will have interesting historical significance specifically because they include such temporal memes.

I definitely support continuing their usage, they are fun.

Gonna think on this and make a bigger post later but personally I have been craving more of your advice material. Maybe you've already given all your advice and it would just be pointless rehashing, I would understand that.

Elaboration: I feel stupid asking for more advice when I still haven't put much of your advice into practice. I believe there are many guys like me struggling to find a reason to try so hard every day like you do. The way I see it when I die the world will be in a much shittier place than now and my family, if I even manage to have one, will probably be tainted by modern conditions to a great degree. You have no wife or children, what motivates you to grind this out every day? Perhaps simple spite is enough to motivate you but for others, it is not. We need motivation perhaps more than advice.

I highly recommend John Milton’s Paradise Lost.

Satan is portrayed as highly sympathetic. If you don’t find yourself siding with Satan against God, at least a little bit, you’re not reading it correctly. The allure of evil is powerful.

The writing has been fantastic. It's hard to imagine it being better, but every time I thought the same thing in the past, you took it to another level anyway. I'm sure inspiration will strike soon enough.

The writing is still very funny and interesting, no worries there. It's the best stuff out there and has been for some time. Yeah maybe once in a while an article is "too arduous" but that's rare.

I like it when basic news blurbs are short and pithy, no need to slog too hard through them (the AXIOS thing was hilarious). They are wonderfully complemented with the lengthy philosophical and analytical pieces. Which is usually how the DS is.

The role you played in making Nazi stuff played out and not shocking anymore, that's huge. Covering more Christian stuff is a great follow-up move, and a very important one.

One thing you could do is attempt to set a loose limit of, say, 4 pieces per day - 3 short pithy news blurbs, and one longer analysis, forcing yourself to choose the few that are the most important or inspiring to write about and publish, in the broad scheme of things.

More health and fitness stuff please.

You have changed my outlook on life and fitness. Instead of riding the doom train of degeneracy and waiting to be killed or die, I have climbed from the pit. I went back to the gym a few years ago. Before, I would just go to perv out on the big assed gym thots doing squats and do some low energy bullshit, non compound lifts and cardio. Yes, you would still call me fat if you saw me, but nobody could deny the fire, rage, and newfound strength that was always hiding inside my dna. It just had to be unlocked like an achievement. Im still working on the green menace and have taken great strides in the no-fap lifestyle, although I do relapse from time to time. (I hear you like reading about the people whose lives you have changed for the better.)

Thank you for this and the tranny watching site.

Also, your filler stuff cracks me up.
Edit: Here's a solid gold nugget. The wife walked in on my open screen with the story about "off the side you slide", began reading it. I walked in to see a disgusted, dumbfounded look on her face as she read the article out loud. I could not stop laughing. Thank you for that as well.

Things are quiet at the moment. Antifa/BLM had grand revolutionary ambitions, but the checks from George Soros suddenly stopped when they achieved his goal of removing Trump from office. Police have backed away from inner-city ghettos, allowing Negroes to thin their own herd much faster than before, which no one cares about because Trump has been removed from office. The Mexican border is a humanitarian disaster, which no one cares about because Trump has been removed from office. The Covid hysteria is gradually subsiding because Trump has been removed from office.

I suspect that behind the façade of Dementia Joe, one of the Democrats' saner factions is presently in control, with the attitude of, "It's our country now, maybe we shouldn't be in too much of a hurry to destroy it."

The prose of your articles, the way you express yourself, is on point in my opinion. I think domestic stuff is less important to cover than it was in the past. Geopolitics will play a very important role in the future, and it will decide if we have gay anal sex globally or we get good products at reasonable prices. Speaking of, I found your articles giving insights into the Asian mind very interesting, and I learned a lot from them. The first one that comes to my mind is this one, although it is not about the Chinese. So geopolitics and what is up with these Asians are good topics in my opinion.

I would also be interested what you think will happen in the intermediate term. In the short term, the West will get locked down and vaxxed to hell (literally), in the long term either Western societies collapse on their own, due to being managed by brown and female savages, or they will be overwhelmed by the Chinese. But what will happen from now until then, and what are important things to consider or do until then, I find interesting. You often say to move out of the cities, but I think there are a lot more things that would be useful. Until then, the dating market will have changed a lot I'd wager, in a way that makes women less likely to go ride the cock-carousel. I would also be interested in what you think are going to be important skills in that time professionally, as being in a good position financially and professionally then will be immensely helpful for being able to form a family, so this will probably be useful information for the young readers yet to be bloomed.

I think it's time for you to take the jump to long-form work. You're a superb writer, and I think you've reached the point where high-volume writing on degenerate ephemera is holding you back.

The old-time blogs with fewer articles but high quality discussion continuing for days are basically extinct, and I think there's an open niche for the DS there. If there are fewer articles with longer time on the front page I think you'll be able to get more contributions from the community. It's a lot more appealing for unpaid contributors to focus on a serious, carefully written article on some area of their expertise than it is to continuously crank out reporting on current events.

Perhaps you could consider taking the old weekly samizdat format, but release on a monthly schedule instead. Something carefully edited and fixed to look forward to each month and share and discuss with others. I think we are all craving permanence, and the shifting 24/7 format of news websites is wearing us all down.

I will give my honest, respectful opinion and say that your paragraphs are too short. You should combine your paragraphs more often, and definitely avoid one-sentence paragraphs as much as possible. Shorter paragraphs break the flow of a writing.
