I'm having trouble finding cat food - the brand my cat likes hasn't been available for months now. Ditto for the dog food my dogs eats. Got the last bag a few months ago and haven't seen it since.

When the Democrats are in office, inflation is "temporary" or "transitory" and will only last a short time; with Republicans, it's a "major crises" and "national disaster."

Biden and/or his administration won't be blamed for flooding the money supply - there are too many dollars chasing too few items.

We've had TWELVE jetskis (waverunners ackshually) on backorder for over six months. Not exactly a necessary item but it's just like everything else.
I'm coming down to Panama City for some well-deserved R&R next weekend. I'll look you up. ;-). Y'all better not be run out of operating waverunners.

Same for my canned dog food. Haven't seen it in months. I went to Sam's and bought a case of the cheapest hotdogs they had [still not cheap]. I have to cut one up and mix it in with this store-brand dog food or the dog won't touch it.

Can someone name a specific product that has not been on shelves for atleast 3 months?
The specific cat food I buy for my cat.

The dog food I buy for my dog.

Both used to be plentiful. Haven't seen either in months.

I was at a BJs restaurant last month out in Southern California…they don’t give you BJs there, before you ask.
I ordered the rack of baby back ribs. She said they didn’t have them and didn’t expect any in for three weeks. WTF??? I exclaim: β€œAmerica is now officially a third world country!”
This stupid hippie bitch behind the bar comes back with: β€œAckshually, we’re a first world country with mass manufacturing.” 😁
Then where are my fucking ribs you stupid cunt? Some people’s kids, I swear. πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ
We tried to go to California Pizza Kitchen the other day for lunch - at noon. Was not open (although hours clearly showed opening at 11:00) - there were a number of people outside milling around like us wondering what was going on.

A harried manager came out and told us he didn't have enough staff to open up - and he was waiting for supplies to come in that hadn't yet been delivered.

We left and drove by a couple of hours later and they were still not open.

Expect to see "for lease" next time I drive by - as so many other restaurants have closed over the past year.

I’m always relieved when I get to leave California…too bad its problems always seem to follow

I think you people need to go outside and get some fresh air at this point.

Shortages where? I can find everything in my local stores here in my state. Toilet paper, all kinds of food items, Lysol spray. I don't see any shortages of anything. If you are having shortages then it's probably best to look for a local cause. Cause it's not being caused by anything that would effect the whole country. Do you live in a area that was hit by recent natural disasters? That could be a cause.
Yes there are still a few shortages cause the government was still paying people to stay home. The moratorium on evictions is over and the unemployment has been cut off at the federal level. People will have to go back to work. The few shortages there are will stop.

Otherwise this is just happooner faggotry. LOL

Similar situation in the UK, the media and companies have been blaming the problem on Brexit.

A method used to persuade the UK government to rejoin the EU Single Market.

We need to start supporting local farmers and businesses, why support a company with billions of pounds/dollars in profit while local businesses are struggling?

Also make payments with local businesses in hard cash to keep it outside the system!
Good luck finding a "local farmer" in 2021.

Unless you just mean the guys that work for the corporation.

Thats true for crops at least. As well as chickens and pigs. Cattle is a bit different however and basically the big feedlot companies usually buy cattle from a lot of individual farmers, then raise them from there. So small cattle ranchers are still around, but they're not usually raising them to slaughter on their own.

My local supermarkets have either meaningfully cut down on their item selection, or just leave holes in their shelves when various items go out of stock for days--or even weeks--at a time. This has been the case for well over a year now.
Same here, it’s like as soon as they get a shipment in it’s gone and the shelves have empty spots

I go through a 100 lbs of dog food a week feeding the coons, I haven’t been able to get the big cheaper bags lately, which they actually like much more....

Old but still holding.
Last year 50 pounds of chic starter was 11.99 ,right now its 15.99.
Round bales of grass hay were 35-75.00 for 700 pounds, today 95-150.00.
Large squares of grass hay are about 140.00 up from 100.00.

Many such cases, your meats are going to skyrocket, prolly winter early sping.
You will eat nothing and like it 2022!

Uggg. I spent 50.00 on a couple pounds of bird seed for my caique, maybe a months worth and that’s with her eating our leftovers too. I have a feeling their is going to be a lot of animals suffering when this all comes down, we have destroyed the natural order.

I run my own business as a consultant. Not only am I having a hard time getting various equipment ordered/delivered for my needs, ALL of my customers are having severe problems. This is especially true with industrial equipment, which many businesses rely on, as consumer equipment is generally comparatively "trash". It's impossible for me to overstate how bad it's getting in that regard.

I stock up on food out of habit, and hopefully many of us have been doing to same thing for a while. The price shocks are hitting every trip to the store. I buy in bulk whenever possible, so that does help some, but random things won't be in stock each trip. I have simple food needs, since I eat as much organic (and raw when possible), animal products. That being said, it's getting harder to find good quality products in sufficient supply.

Yeah, it's not 'massive' shortages here in FL, but I'll tell you, it is Random, completely randomly aisles will just be low/empty, things like K-cups will be down to just basic coffee and/or french vanila which isn't a big deal for me, but it's something I notice.

Chicken noodle of all things is sold out at the store and samsclub 24/7, just random items that my relatives ask me to pick up for them and I go 'Huh'. I mostly make food from scratch so Flour, Sugar, meat etc are fine, but you know, I can agree cooking oils are limited randomly too.

It's kind of like 1984, they all want to pretend there is no problem. 'The chocolate ration has been increased.' type deal, even as things randomly decrease in variety and quality. Boxes are also smaller, which has been a trend for decades, but it's quite noticable when the price hikes 10-20% (a dollar a bag for example) and a 5 pound is now a 4 pound. It's effectively a 3 dollar hike actually.

After decades of no hunting I decided to get a hunting license again this year.

In Texas my family has been stocking up on pigs. I use a thermal scope and .300 Blackout to pop them at night.

They are free, and plentiful. It's a P.I.T.A. to process them, but freezers full of protein makes me feel good.
