America Experiencing Shortage of Basic Goods

Shoppers unlikely to have a wide range of food products to choose from in supermarkets, due to supply chain issues, industry body warns https://t.co/lc2Niz12z0

Most people do not understand how absurdly complicated supply chains are in the modern world.

They’re probably going to be finding out pretty soon.

Reuters:

Before supply chain breakdowns and shortages swept the world in the wake the COVID pandemic, buying the bits and pieces for an assembly line was often as easy as clicking a button and waiting a few days or, at most, a few weeks for delivery.

Not anymore.

Shortages of metals, plastics, wood and even liquor bottles are now the norm.

The upshot is a world where buyers must wait for delivery of items that were once plentiful, if they can get them at all. Rash has piles of tents she can’t ship because she can’t get the right aluminum tubing for their frames, for instance, while others lack the right zippers.

Along with the shortages come hefty price increases, which has fueled fears of a wave of sustained inflation.

There’s growing tension among Federal Reserve policymakers over how to gauge the long-term impact on prices. Some Fed policymakers are more convinced than others that price pressures will recede after some of the supply chain disruptions are resolved. How this debate evolves could influence how quickly the Fed moves to reduce the pace of asset purchases launched at the start of the pandemic, and how soon it lifts the policy interest rate from its current level near zero.

Rash and other local producers were part of a wide ranging forum recently with Richmond Fed president Tom Barkin that focused on the challenges to the U.S. recovery posed by supply chain issues that are not getting resolved as fast as policymakers had hoped.
These people shut down the whole system, and they never really started it back up, because the point of this hoax was to downsize the entire Western world.

Coronavirus is the excuse for everything.

Wait until you find out how complex the supply chain is for food in this country.

That’s when things are going to get weird.

I have friends in logistics who specialize in "premium" logistic services--i.e., when somebody needs something moved asap, and they can't find any way to move it, they call these guys and they get it done...for a hefty markup. E.g., FedEx is one of their customers. (Yes, FedEx hires them, not the other way around.)

Since the beginning of the 2020 COVD hysteria, they have been going absolutely gangbusters. Like, 200% yoy growth gangbusters.

I.e., the whole supply chain is so fucked, moving anything--everything--is requiring their (and those of companies similar to them) premium services.

My local supermarkets have either meaningfully cut down on their item selection, or just leave holes in their shelves when various items go out of stock for days--or even weeks--at a time. This has been the case for well over a year now.

I wish I could find the image I saw the other day--it was a label on some piece of perishable food (avacados maybe?) stating "grown in [Argentina?], packaged in [Thailand]"...and sitting on a shelf in flyover country, USA. I.e., shit is grown in south america, shipped to SEA for packaging, and then shipped to USA. Each of those hops is a hyperweb of trains, planes, ships, trucks, ports, customs, transfers, warehouses, etc.

That's fine. The FED can just print more monopoly dollars and give it to the companies that need to pay the premium (through a very efficient governmental program as always). Okay, if you're going to say that if you give more money for spending on this to companies, then the companies offering this service are going to raise up the prices, that's all right too because I already considered that. You would just prevent the companies offering the service from charging higher, make it illegal to charge more than a certain amount for their services.

Okay, next you'll say that the companies offering the service won't be able to buy or borrow the equipment needed to do the jobs since the prices will be going up due to demand but since they're crippled by a cap to how much they charge they can't turn a profit. Well, that's okay too, because we'll regulate that the guys selling the trucks/equipment or offering paid loans for the equipment can't charge more than a set number either. Now you're going to talk about a domino effect where the guys selling the equipment can't turn a profit but that's fine because we'll just control the whole of the economy, we'll have set prices on everything you can think of and fixed wages for workers, too. Now you might ask how we'll implement this but it's simple, you'll have a government body completely controlling the economy, it'll decide the prices, the wages, will make sure that the laws are followed and make sure there's no corruption.

Serious mode for a sec here, the economy is so, so fucked that I can't even begin to think of a way to fix it. Thankfully, we don't need to think of solutions because annihilating the economy was by design. You could think of a miracle solution but the people in charge of it want it destroyed so it's not like they'd implement it anyway.

Literally nobody cares about the stupid China virus anymore. If you go ahead and ignore all this stuff about supply chain break downs you won’t even notice them. It’s only this Q-tard boomer forum that I even hear about this stuff, if you faggots had lives and turned off the media’s fear mongering about how bad the economy is you wouldn’t know anything is different from a year ago. Beijing Biden isn’t going to do anything to piss off the Chinks so if they tell him to open up the supply chains he will and since nobody cares about the China virus anymore there is no reason to keep them closed.

All you boomer conspiratards are going to feel real stupid when Trumps back in office in 2024 and you’re trying to convert your stupid bit money into dollars.

I tend to avoid chains like walmart like the bubonic plague, and stay local for everything ( I'm not that sensitive where I gotta have one brand of potato chips etc) but npc's would be surprised at how the transnational jew controls your food supply.

Ok…this is weird. It’s happening globally and no one is speaking about it. My supermarket was basically empty. Why don’t goyim have Irish potato famine or Holomondor Receptors? Jews senses go into over drive when they sense trouble. Yet no food on supermarket shelves doesn’t concern them. How exactly do goyim think they’re going to put food in their face hole?

Similar situation in the UK, the media and companies have been blaming the problem on Brexit.

A method used to persuade the UK government to rejoin the EU Single Market.

Get to know your local farmers. I cannot repeat this enough. Grow your own food. Learn to make household products. We all have to go Amish.
We need to start supporting local farmers and businesses, why support a company with billions of pounds/dollars in profit while local businesses are struggling?

Also make payments with local businesses in hard cash to keep it outside the system!

Couldn’t agree more but local businesses don’t really make their own toilet paper.

There are many items on Amazon that are back ordered. I have wire crimpers and a wire bristle wheel for rust removal which are going to take a month to get here. Amazon is considered to have the best logistics in the world and being the biggest they also have first dibs on restocking. This is real.
