Summoning that camera expert guy to the stand was just an excuse to play all of the body cam videos over and over again... except his company is associated with the camera mounted on the Speedway awning across the street, not the cameras worn on the officers.

All of the questions for him were pointless procedural ones about how to interact with the software that plays surveillance video... then they’d just kinda sit around and watch that gentle giant work himself up into a panic attack while the fent was kicking in.

Does the defense just want to keep traumatizing the jury into sadness for Floyd by replaying his wheezy howls on a loop? Surely it could just as easily make them realize that Floyd barely followed a single simple command from the officers from second one.

And that he was obviously high/ODing, as well as claiming he couldn’t breathe minutes before they were anywhere near his neck.

Also, I only caught the second half of the 19 year old shop clerk this morning, think I’ll go back and watch his full testimony. Did he say someone else tried to pass a very similar, if not the exact same $20 earlier in the day?

It got kind of distracting how he’d say β€˜correct’ to most everything, even when it wasn’t really applicable or grammatically correct. Anyway, he seemed alright, lives upstairs with his mom, works downstairs, goes to school.

He expressed some guilt that he didn’t just accept the fake-ass bill and let Floyd go about his day... giving people rides to the Apple Store...? Idk.

The funniest part was that Curious George was trying to turn that fake twenty into real cash change by buying a banana! I’d never heard that fact. He was also β€˜doing a little dance’ and β€˜stretching/lunging’ while in the store. Wtf?
Muhfugga tried to buy a banana wif a fake $20?? Damn, that's mo' rayciss than St. Skittles buying Arizona watermelon flavored ice tea. The media be all up in suppressing dat.

I'd like to see the defense ask the witness, "What did George Floyd try to buy with the fake $20?!?!?"
*witness cries on the stand like a bitch ass nigga*
WHAT'S THAT? I CAN'T HEAR YOU.

Just wait until next week when the Defense has their turn... I wouldnt be surprised if all the news media giving constant up to the minute play by play will suddenly find a reason to cut their feed to something else.

They have already gone a long way to create reasonable doubt and I think when they put their own witnesses on the stand it will become clear as day.

It's going to be epic. There might be a chimpout just because they arent going to like what the defense will be setting down.

No defense attorney is willing to risk their life for an acquittal in this high profile case.
And that's a fucking shame, my man. If his legal "team" throws him under the bus then he need to sneak out before sentencing and fuck everybody πŸ–•πŸ‘Œβœ‹

I want to repost my comment from another thread; to keep in mind as you watch the prosecution wrap up over the next few days.

the prosecution has to prove actus reus and mens rea for Chauvin to be found guilty, "actus reus" meaning Chauvin caused Floyd's death and "mens rea" meaning he acted with culpable negligence knowing his actions could harm or kill George. the prosecution actually faces an uphill battle because they have overcharged the case with 2nd and 3rd degree murdercharges rwhere this is probably best suited for just the claim of manslaughter.

2nd degree murder does not require intent to murder but still requires a murder committed in the course of another felony, and 3rd requires showing that Chauvin "perpetrated an act eminently dangerous to others and evincing a depraved mind without regard for human life"
There is a distinct possibility that there will be a mistrial, as the jury must come to a unanimous conviction beyond a reasonable doubt for Chauvin to be found guilty. Its also known as a hung jury is if even just one person out of 12 still has a reasonable doubt after deliberation.

George Floyd was caught on an officers Body Cam footage saying, "I ate too many drugs"

First 30 seconds of this clip:

Defense attorney Eric Nelson cross-examines expert witness Sgt. Jody Stiger, highlighting a portion of video in which George Floyd can be heard saying something, but it is unclear what he is saying. Nelson said it is possible Floyd is saying that he ate too many drugs. Stiger said he could not tell what was said.

I heard the clip and it is hard to hear the last 2 words, but you can clearly hear "I ate too..."

I seriously doubt he ever ate too many bananas that day.

this was a really great move by the defense though as he was able to play the clip twice for this witness, and again for another witness and then the prosecution ended up playing the clip again a 4th time. Which all helps get into the jury's head George ate drugs. AND IT'S NOT EVEN DEFENSES TURN YET!🀣

Speaking as a retired former public defender and criminal defense attorney, two things are jumping out at me.

First, this prosecution was doomed from the beginning. The evidence simply does not support the charges. The obvious conclusion is that it’s a political prosecution, pursued because the political forces who control the prosecution believed it was politically necessary.

Second, Schleiter is a terrible trial lawyer. The best prosecutor in the world would have a very difficult time making a credible case here. Schleiter is a bungling incompetent in way over his head. I’ve faced any number of deputy prosecutors with very limited trial experience who would have done a vastly better job. The worst mistake prosecutor can make is to ignore evidence and arguments on direct in order to make points. It’s literally setting up the defense to destroy your case as is happening here. Perhaps even worse, Schleiter is destroying his credibility with the jury. The jury will begin to doubt everything he says and wait to see how things look after defense counsel provides additional evidence, context and perspective. When the jury doesn’t trust the prosecutor and does trust defense counsel a huge part of the battle is already won.

I’m wondering just how Schleiter wound up with this case. Did those in charge realize the case was unwinnable and give it to an incompetent because no competent prosecutor would accept the job? Or is the entire prosecutor’s office so incompetent that none of them understand the case is unwinnable? Is Schleiter the senior clown in the circus?

Whatever the case may be, an terrible case that should never have been brought is being exposed even more thoroughly by nearly unbelievable incompetency on the part of Schleiter

I have to be down at the court house today for the Floyd case.

I am a key witness. I observed that George, in fact, did not do anything, and they slowly strangled the life out of him for no other reason than the hatred of the color of his skin.
