Well @Enwar by off and on I meant I’v had a few other jobs, more official company type stuff, but usually just end up back in construction working for cash.

But to be honest, I’v had some pretty lean years working construction and have learned to really pair down my life/costs. I’m single/no kids, so it’s always been possible to just get by on not a whole lot.

‘Hand to Mouth’ is all I’v ever known

I tiled my entire bathroom once with a 4" grinder, a sponge and a borrowed tile cutter. a bigger tile you can rent a saw. or buy one and take it back after job!

good luck

Used to be steady work but now the beaners will quote pennies on the dollar. Of course their work is beyond shit. I can't even count how many jobs I've had to fix their shoddy workmanship.

How's the job going?

Luckily I was able to get my old partner/step dad to split it with me, so I’m gonna help him finish the job he’s on and then we’ll both start the shower this weekend.

Before we start tho I have to carve a dip into the center of the concrete slab so the water will drain. The shower entrance has 2 be flush with the bathroom floor tile, so I need create a zero to -3/4” cone down to the center.

Gonna be dusty grinding.

Oh, did I mention there’s radiant heating water lines sitting just below the slab depth running back and forth every foot or so? No pressure, I just have to carve a 2 foot long channel all the way through the concrete to redo the drain position to the center...! Oh the thrill 🥵 @Ironring

😂 no pressure!

I never was any good at tile, that was my brother. I always thought it took a little bit of an artist to do Tile right.

Jobs like that go 4 times faster with a second pair of hands. I'm glad you got some help.

Yup, tile is a weird beast, you can’t just pop a couple extra nails in it to make it sit right, you can only jiggle it just enough and then back away.

And yeah, I wasn’t looking forward to running back and forth to the saw and having to set every tile. So that’s another answered prayer 😁
